We haven't seen Xebec or Roger fight, so it is premature to call them swordsmen.

And I don't think we can win Mihawk > Roger argument. There is just nothing to back it up.

We didn't actually see any fights. We only saw them charge at one another. Don't get me wrong, there is a good chance of them being swordsman considering Oda decided to give them swords, but for now I don't wanna go that route.

The thing is we don't know if Roger and Xebec had any DF. For now, most of the swordsmen don't have DF (except Law, Cracker and Shiryu, but Law is pathetic in swordfights). So, too soon to make judgments.

A df doesn’t make you not a swordsman. Mr.1 was a swordsman , big Mom is one as well

Well, yeah! Of course, I am not saying anything negative about @Guan Yu's list.

I am just saying that having Roger and Xebec as swordsmen below Mihawk is difficult to prove. I welcome the ideas though.

In Roger's case, he's just carrying a cutlass. He was also carrying a pistol in an earlier flashback panel. That doesn't automatically make him a marksman. He's a pirate after all. It's too premature to seriously consider him a swordsman, imo.

What he is trying to say (and I agree) is that, we haven't see Roger actually fight yet. There is definitely a good chance of Roger being a swordsman. But it is too soon for us to start claiming that.

Remember WB having a meito-class bisento? It created complications too.

We don't know how that fight exactly went down. We only got single shot. A far cry from say Shanks vs Mihawk where the 2 had many 1v1 duels, and are specifically referred to as 'rivals.' Anyway, let's just agree to disagree. Last thing I want is to derail the FC with these "who qualifies as a swordsman."

Actually I think it is a great discussion point for us. Besides, everybody here is a Zoro fan, so no risk of derailing.

Perhaps, we can have a poll of sort to see where we stand.

I don't think so. All we'd be doing is dissecting a single panel and arguing how much importance we should take from Roger carrying a cutlass. It's the kind of detail we need more info on.
