He one shot Appo and Kaido one shot Lufffy.

Very important point is only Zoro is a 'samurai' from the protagonist side and we know this arc is heavily centered around samurais.
Other SN including Luffy has nothing to do Kaido for two reasons. They are pirates and they are not having traditional Japanese swordsman.

At this point the only counter arguaments against Zoro killing Kaidou is
- The SHs have never killed anyone
- Oda doesn't like killing villians
Both are weak af. It's like saying Ace and WB wouldn't die because Oda had never killed anyone before MF
