No, it just signals that they are powering up which they did. The Yonkou still intended to kill the SN, but they were doing it while holding back their real strength. They began to enjoy themselves while the battle continued and so are using their real strength. They didn't suddenly stop trying to kill the SN.

They will still in the end kill them, but now that they are enjoying themselves, they are taking their time with it, letting the SN's show them what they got, and observing to see wether they have any more in store or their wasted efforts have crushed their fighting spirit.

It's basically what we're seeing, with them waiting for Luffy to jump in time and time again, and throwing him back where he came from. Big Mom laughing like a maniac with her tongue out, and Kaido as i mentioned checking if there's still fire in their eyes, or they have nothing more in store to fuel their entertainment so they should just go ahead and finish them off.

Already read it, and as stated, your time evaluation argument is awful.

- Sparkes doesn't necessarily indicate haki. Pretty certain @Admiral Lee Hung already posted one of the countless panels showing non haki user clashes being drawn that way

- Luffy's state post-G4 doesn't prove his haki comeback. You talk like you missed WCI where post-G4 Luffy could still fight back and run away from many Big Mom pirates, Big Mom herself included, while running through multiple towns through the mirror world

That's why determining timeframe based on panel events doesn't help at all

I don't really understand how you would look at everything that happened in this chapter and suggest that the Supernova have been fighting for < 10 minutes.

• Zoro went from using Santoryu to fighting with only Ittoryu
  • This suggests that he's been fighting for long enough that continuing in Santoryu is exhausting.
• Kidd went from fighting with his giant robot to only controlling two smaller metal arms
• Mama switched from riding Zeus to riding Prometheus and fused with Prometheus.
  • She's now using Zeus as the weapon for her right hand.
  • At the end of Chapter 1003, she was riding Zeus and had not yet fused with Prometheus.
• Luffy, Zoro and Killer are shown panting.
• Many references have been made to just how long the Supernova have been fighting the Yonkou:
  • Luffy: "we've hit them so many times"
  • Killer: Honestly, after all this, I'm surprised he still considers them human.
  • Zoro: "how do we win against these monsters?"

That's why Luffy's not using G4. Zoro is also not using Santoryu despite having all his three swords in perfect condition.

Regarding off paneling, either Oda resumed where we stopped last time (he didn't) or he off paneled a significant part of the conflict (he did). Given that he's off paneled the conflict, there's no arbitrary limitation on how long the off paneling can be.

We've never seen Luffy properly fight after running out of G4. There was a small timeskip at the end of Chapter 1003 before Kaido brought out his Hybrid form, and Luffy was still utterly exhausted then.


All things considered, I just think it's too much to ask for:

• Everything that has happened to be confined to Luffy's Boundman cooldown.
  • The switch in fighting styles and approach of the Supernova and Yonkou.
    • Zoro moving from one sword to three.
    • Kidd ditching his massive robot and opting for controlling two arms.
    • Man switching from Zeus to Prometheus as her mount and fusing with Prometheus.
  • The utter exhaustion of the Supernova.
  • Everything that has happened below the Rooftop.
• Luffy to be fighting Kaido head on without Haki at all.
  • Luffy may be stupid, but that's a new level of retarded.

And this is ignoring that the Supernova themselves have repeatedly suggested that they have been fighting the Yonkou for a while.

As far as I can tell, your only argument is that Oda wouldn't off panel the battle. However, we know Oda off paneled the battle as we aren't starting where we stopped, we saw a scene of the battle while we were continuing under the Rooftop and the Rooftop battle is picking up from the end of the events under the Rooftop.

I think you're adhering to strictly to a headcanon of how you expect Oda to depict fights. Believing the 10 minutes hasn't elapsed is simply asking for too much.

Would be very dumb of them to suddenly care or try to reserve their strength against an opponent who has stamina to spare.

they had no qualms hurting him before.
