Hmm mine would be surgeon...

flashback starts

i was into robotics in high school and i thought it would be cool to design and transplant artificial/robotic organs ( it was kind of a novel field ) and ofc to help people in general, i always liked fixing things and i always saw surgeons as basically glorified mechanics, i went ahead, took the medicine and surgery admission test and passed it, for those that pass they do a sort of " extra " tour where they show you a lil bit more what's gonna be all about the labs and sh** and there i found out that i just can't stand internal organs idk why but i get a really uncomfortable feeling when i see them " live " so i discarded that dream and joined control engineering and computer science which is was still kinda cool but i would've like that much better

flashback ends

If i could quit rn and have enough money to enjoy all that without needing to work ever again, i would do it in a heartbeat
Same, but eventually I'd start doing something for fun, like learn a new language so I can watch my anime in Japanese, write D&D campaigns so I can play with my friends, finally learn how to play guitar so I can badly sing along my favorite songs... And I'd keep travelling (I already travel a lot, just in December I will be visiting at least 4 countries plus I live not in my home country.

who the fuck dreams about having a job?

my dream is to not have a job and still being able to live a life of leisure

That would become boring in like a week. People need to have a purpose in life :cabbagestar:
It's Funny because capitalism pushed us to consider work as a labor. When in reality, this si just a social construction. There is are reasons why it's fun to "work" in video game > We have a purpose and a goal and we do it in team to have fun. In a post-capitalist society, work would lose this "labor" label and would probably transform to be of course less present but also more rewarding socially.

Lol, people just joking here
I'm very serious with mine.

Good one!

My dream job is to become a WorstGen Moderator. Some of you must be made to fall in line. :endthis:
You would have to deal with me calling out your lack of action every single day.. you don't want that

Y'all got some really interesting dream jobs. My previous post was kinda trolling. When I was younger I always struggled deciding between which of my interests I wanted to make my profession because I just had so many different ones. I could see myself as anything from biologist/environmental researcher, linguist, archeologist/historian, something artistic, medical, journalist/crisis reporter etc. I'd have preferred to do what Gretchen from Disney's Recess does in the episode about adulthood/the future: clone myself a dozen times so I can follow all my interests at the same time.

As a kid, I wanted to be a researcher/scientist. And I would probably make a good one, I like doing research, I could take fields like linguistics or sociology/psychology. I majored in psychology and got very disillusioned about it. I would still go for linguistics research, because I still find myself interested in this, but it's impossible to survive in this field in my country (not sure about others). You could argue that I sold my body and soul because I have a fairly well-paid job, which rarely makes me happy, but it allows me to do other things that I love.

On another note, I absolutely love Lego and would love to be a Lego designer! I'm not that good at it though, I've built a Lego house I would like to submit to Lego Ideas, but it's cool inside and bland outside. I am still thinking how to improve it so that I could at least putting it in public. Lego was just too expensive in my childhood and I only got to properly have fun with it in my 30's.

Sadly this is a major problem when it comes to those very interesting fields of study.
I'd have loved to live in the Age of Discovery and do ethnological and botanical research (without the racism typical of the time) but even those often had wealthy people or kings as sponsors and the fruits of their work often exploited to conquer the lands they had studied.

What would it be like, living the life of a drone pilot?

Not as boring as some might think, as you're in direct control of a "flying robot" that could be worth thousands of dollars while having it move around in places where an actual person could never reach.
