Literally, I can’t think of any other explanation because it became ridiculously a long time ago but now it’s just getting plain stupid. Like I stopped defending Sanji a long time ago. He was one of my favourite characters and still is don’t get me wrong. But even I can’t defend a character from a Oda’s wearing because there is nothing more powerful than that. Like Oda thinks this is funny. But it’s not. Overusing the same gag time and time again, it was too much in fishman island yet he keeps on going. We’ve had this exact same shit before in enies lobby. Sanji isn’t going to fight Black Maria, so I don’t see why Oda chose for him to bump into her. Even if he fights a calamity, and that’s a big if at this point, I don’t even think I’ll care anymore. Ever since after Punk Hazard, it honestly seems like Oda is going out of his way to shit on Sanji and I don’t get why.
