Is this not automatic higher portrayal?
Like you are listing feats not portrayal. I mean Zoro has higher feats that Mihawk right? He actully does. But in the back our minds, we know Zoro is not stronger than Mihawk. We know this because of Portrayal. And the portrayal is that Zoro cant be stronher than Mihawk despite feats because that would mean Zoro is the strongest swordsman in the world already.
So same to Shanks. Shanks does have more feats than Mihawk but in the back of our minds we know Shanks isnt WSS because that in itself implies things the story cant allow. For example that means the narrator is lying when he calls Mihawk the WSS and it means Zoro will have to beat Shanks and thats even more impossible. See.
That title in itself carries way more implications for Portrayal than you realise. Zoro at the end of Wano will have clashed with Big mom, king and Fujitora in the story and yet his goal states Mihawk is the strongest swordsman. Thats VERY HIGH PORTRAYAL
No because its a fan assumption to sit here and assume Shanks did anything but compete for that title, all while assuming the WSS title has anything to do with Shanks as a whole, who's goals are entirely unknown
Nothing ever was insinuated who won their duals. Mihawk stopped fighting Shanks because he lost his arm, yet there is clear indication that Shanks was ready fight him anyway when they first met on GL
You guys like sitting here and using that as your only argument in this manga when the author has shown me time and time again that Shanks is a vastly more important character in presence and feats.
A big example is Shanks clashing with Whitebeard nonchalantly and insulting his crew. This was a monumental moment in the manga. Mihawk the next arc proceeds to ask how "far he is from that man", throws a slash at him, only to get it blocked by Joz. Not as impressive is it
Again, not saying Mihawk is "weaker" than Shanks, but the manga has NOT shown me a moment where the opposite is true.
