I'm not changing anything. We know enma is making it harder for him to control his haki so that sword is that is the problem.
Regardless of what you want to believe, Zoro used less haki or power against Kaido than he used against Pica golem and the dragon. That still prove me right. He wasn't using enough of his power to cut Kaido, only enough to bruise him. He always had that power.
The Scabbards went from being unable to cut Kaido while giving it their all to cutting him. That showed growth during battle.
Zoro went from using too little power, which could be some or no haki, to using more than enough to cut him.

Zoro didn't have fully fledged barrier ryuo till this arc, the same as Luffy. That was the point of Zoro training with Enma in the first place, to make it more difficult and force Zoro to flow his haki correctly and Zoro saying that HE would be far stronger once he learned how to control Enma.
It is incredibly insulting to Kaido, (and Luffy) to allege Zoro using "more" haki on Pica, was a decisive factor.
Pica comparitively has trash durability, Kaido could withstand the brute force of elephant gattling and g4, and it was clearly explained by Luffy that barrier haki was required to bypass his scales. Killer has good CoA, but no ryuo, hence his shock at Zoro being able to cut through Kaido's scales.
Ryuo doesn't require hardening (or Oda is inconsistent in drawing hardening) -> Luffy in chapter 986 when he removes Yamato's cuffs.

Sanji was foreshadowed since his introduction when he was stated to have the same "Spear of Conviction" as Luffy and Zoro, and that he will no longer "stiffle" it if he leaves Baratie sails with Luffy

And as I stated the hitenbiryou homurasaki is a haki based attack and zoro did not need to coat his swords. Zeff said Sanji has the same spear of Conviction as Luffy. Except he does not use it. Sanjis goal intertwine with Luffys in every single way.

He said I'm still to weak, not that I'll always be weak. He was frustrated and at rock bottom, but he didn't give up being the pirate king at that point.

Zoro growth will come from being able to control large amounts of haki easier and improving his over all haki control.

Wrong luffy does not always have faith in his nakama. This is reflected in wano when he attacks kaido attacks the mountain and he becomes rusty . Same in wano upon interacting with kinemon he basically assumes zoro has being useless. Once again luffy trust his crew mate in a lot of things but there are moments of doubt .
