I've been quite open about Carrot's merits due to WCI. That's it. She's had zero relevance in Wano. If Oda feels like having her join under the pretense of her experience in WCI, then that's his choice.

I have never however, not once, stated Carrot was more likely to join than Yamato. I've always said it's Jinbe, Yamato/Jinbe, or all 3 joining by the tail end of the arc. Never just Carrot. Never just Jinbe and Carrot.

Her fruit being eaten accidentally doesn't mean it doesn't fit the thematic of her character. Gomu gomu was eaten accidentaly by Luffy and such a silly looking power fits his character perfectly
