If not the Log Keeper, why not have Yamato be the official Sake brewer of the SHs. Especially given her interaction with Ace and how central alcohol is to a pirate’s life?

Based on what i’ve seen in the story so far, there are only 3 things Yamato‘s position could be in the SHs.

1. Log Keeper
2. Sake Brewer
3. Apprentice (dark horse option)

There’s nothing Yamato has shown that the ship needs so it’s really just guessing. Only reason I’m saying this is because she’s going to go do something with Kaidos inventory of explosives.

Honestly the fact that log keeper is available is why I think Sabo will join

Sabo would not want to join Luffy. Ace and sabo said it best when they were kids.... They do not want be under luffy. They have their own adventure go on and they have their own nakama they made along the way. Sabo joining Luffy's crew is very unlikely going to happened since sabo consider second command revolutionary. He might just stay as ally to Luffy and his cause. The reason Yamato could log keeper idea because she has never experienced what is like outside of world. She has already read on the adventure's oden went on maybe she might write her own journal things that she never seen before.

One of most possible role for Yamato I can think about is Explorer, like Norland or Pedro. She’s been imprisoned for 20 years, she will have the curiosity to explore the upcoming islands in her zoan form first. She can seek out threats, or important things to look after

Narrative reason can be made. Something happened at the reverie that separated Sabo from the other revs for the time being

None can be made for such a wild thing to occur. Be with the SHs for any Revolutionary-World Govenrment plotlines yes, but an official member? None in the slightest.

Greg’s all but said that Oda told him the original plan was for the crew to finish with Jinbei. Or Sango or whatever the prototype Jinbei characters name was.

So in 1997 when Oda made chapter 1 he planned on ten Strawhats.

Of course, he could have changed his mind since then. He could well have changed his mind by the time he made chapter 2, we don’t know.

Personally, I don’t think he thought of an eleventh Strawhat until after the timeskip. That’s why before the timeskip we had
-all ten Blackbeard Pirates organised and ready to take on the New World
-nine Strawhats, but the seeds for Jinbei had already been sown

And then after the timeskip he’s decided to add one more and that’s why there’s suddenly a new Blackbeard Pirate that didn’t take part in Marineford, and a new Strawhat to fight them.

If people want a connection to Luffy with Yamato before, you can always point to Yamatos making the Vivre Card for Ace and the words before they left hell Oda brought it up in the latest Magazine:

Aces line is the same from Yamato meaning it made an impact, Luffy heard Yamatos words two years before they meet, Oda pretty much said this in Magazine 13 @Garp the Fist

Yamato made the Vivre Card that kept not only themself connected to Ace, but Luffy and Ace connected all throughout Luffy journey, through Impel Down and through the War till Aces death.
