Oda hasn't even done anything for Shiryu yet, Pizzarro can easily get his hype when it's time.

For the record I have no idea who Sanji is facing.

At most they are on Queens level

I still don't know, in my opinion almost anyone could be his opponent. The only one that doesn't make sense is Vasco because his power is basically to produce alcohol which is highly flammable.

Sanji proved that he can handle big opponents in Fishmen Island, so Wolf is a possibility but I think that would be lame.

Vasco is possible. In the anime, Vasco was matched up against Roo, the YC2 of the Red Hair Pirates.

Pizarro and Lafitte are the two most likely imo. I want it to be Lafitte because Sanji's opponent usually gets a decent amount of screentime, and I really enjoy Laffite's character

Sanji is either fighting Burgess, or Jinbe fights Burgess and Sanji fights Vasco.
Thing is, Vasco has alcohol powers which make him highly flammable, and in Amazon Lily it was implied he wanted to rape Hancock, which Sanji definitely doesn't stand for.

Let's not forget that scene also happened a year ago and the BB pirates could've grown stroner since then.

The argument that Vasco and Pizarro have gotten stronger since then is a weak one since errone else also got stronger as well.
Again what is key here is potrayal. Also I have no idea whether Augur is stronger than Pizzaro, Augur could very well be Yasopp-esque making him top 4 in the crew or Usopp esuqe making him one of the weaker members depends on Oda choses to do with him but Augur not getting neg'd by Aokiji can only be good for his portrayal.

At the end of the day we lack enough information on feats and abilities to know for sure, but defaulting to Laffitte just cause we haven't seen him take damage even though he hasn't shown any powerful feat himself is dumb.

For now there is literally zero reason to believe Laffitte is stronger than Burgess other than "well he hasn't taken an L yet so we can't shit on him yet".

Also I'm not defaulting to Laffite. I and a few others here have always been team Laffite as it has been abundantly clear to us that he'd be Sanji's opponent. I've already banged on about Laffite too many times on here already that I can't be arsed to go into it again in this thread.
Anyone saying we don't know enough about Laffite yet, or have no reason to think Laffite is stronger than Burgess simply hasn't bothered to think about it imo coz the signs are blatant if you actually look into it.

Sanji sits between YC1 and YC2 for now. His opponent has to be at least YC1 level if not higher. My personal choice has always been lafite but Burgess and pizarro are also fair game

I always thought Sanji would fight Laffitte... imo in terms of competence and portrayal the trio Shiliew - Laffitte - Van Augur looks like the counterpart of Beckman Roux - Yasopp trio.

Avalo Pizarro is also a good option but since Post War Laffitte threatened to kill him and he stayed quiet , I alway thought he was the stronger one, Laffitte is the only OG member to show dominance over a level 6 prisonner probably the 2nd strongest after Shiliew, so to me he was always too strong for Nami or Brook

Fact of the matter is that Oda could've easily shown all of the BB Pirates frozen this chapter but chose not to and even Laffite who instigated it was left out. Kuzan being stronger than any commander is not really relevant. What is important here is how they are portrayed against him. Kuzan is significantly stronger than Doffy yet Doffy was shown to break out of his ice. That is good portrayal. Likewise, Oda chose not to subject certain BB Pirates to neg diff treatment from Kuzan.
