Current Events Fujitora kills Mihawk and steals his title

Of course I don't have an answer :gokulaugh: You think I can talk about a language that I've no idea about?

It's just funny that mihawk / zoro fanboys go far enough to think they understand Japanese.
Well we got a person who knows Japanese and English saying there's no difference between the titles in Japanese. So you should probably drop that argument when downplaying Mihawk

@EtenBoby thanks for the swift response :)

me : Japanese is a complex language you can't use ABC google translate logic.
you : What's the difference?

Honk! Honk!

Stop quoting me really, because I will not answer at this point.
世界最強の男 - Sekai Saikyō no Otoko
世界最強の剣士 Sekai Saikyō no Kenshi

I'll spell it out for you. "世界最強の" and "Sekai Saikyō no" translates to "world's strongest." Both Whitebeard and Mihawk have those in the original, JPN version.

Who is this person lol? :gokulaugh:

What translation he did?

Japanese is a very different, and also complex language, they couldn't even translate FTL (faster than light) ability correctly, and they used ''Super Light Speed mode'' for a Dragon Ball Chracter such as Dyspo. There are many issues about Japanese-English, only ignorant who try to use ABC logic.

Then saying ''World's greatest man'' would be a right translation for WB?

Also I am curious what kind of Japanese-English translations you did before.

If you check out the spoiler threads she translates the leaked images. Basically a new Den Den Mushi who's a huge Kaido fan, so you can't be intellectually dishonest and just claim bias for the translations

Spoiler translation isn't a professional translation, lol. :gokulaugh:

If that ABC logic was true, then we could say WB's title is ''world's greatest man''

That's how your ABC logic works.

@Erkan12

You don't need to know Japanese to understand that "世界最強の" means something along the lines of "world's strongest." It's really not rocket science.
That's how people make stupid and wrong Japanese-English translations, lmao.

Of course you can translate by using ABC logic, but that doesn't mean it's true.

We've a pro translator who says what's the difference between WSS and WGS.

If we use same ABC logic, then WB is also the world's greatest man. :suresure:

Mihawk was called "World's Strongest Swordsman" again in chapter 925 according to Viz. Apparently he got a title upgrade.

''Apparently'' :gokulaugh:

Cactus, stfu please. Your nonsense has no limit. Stop tagging me for your nonsense.

The pro translator said ''what's the difference between WGS and WSS'' and you're still bullshitting.

What's the difference between greatest and strongest in English?

2 former VIZ translator said it's WGS.
Stephen Paul translated as WGS before.
Then Paul said what's the difference between ''WGS and WSS''

That's how it is.

You can't say WB's title is world's greatest man.

But you can say mihawk's title is WGS.

Except you can say Whitebeard was the World's Greatest Man. They're the exact same Japanese characters.

This is simply because in Mihawk's case, the adjective "Greatest" or "Strongest" is describing a profession, so there will not be any difference in meaning, cause it simply means he stands at the "TOP" of all swordsmen regardless of what translation you used.

In case of WB's. Because the adjective is describing " a man" and not a profession that both words "greatest" and "Strongest" works on and give the SAME MEANING. they had to translate it to only "Strongest" with WB. Because otherwise, it may give a different meaning, while in Mihawk's case, it doesn't give a different meaning.

To clarify, "Greatest man" can relate to different things than strength, like greatest man in morality, integrity...etc. BUT, in Mihawk's case, it was describing the martial arts, that is called "Swordmanship". So, regardless wether you use "Greatest" or "Strongest" with the translation, it will not change the meaning that much considering it's describing a "power level" in both cases. While in WB's case, using a different English word than "Strongest" could have changed the entire meaning relating it to things that have nothing to do with "Strength/power level"

But of course, you'll end up posting Goku laughing picture, and continue with the blasphemy of downplaying Mihawk's title and twisting it to serve your own interpretation. So, who cares lol
