gotta watch in time

i heard book readers are malding again lmao
Hard to take them serious until I actually look into it myself

Every adaptation I've ever watched has had people that complain about every episode/season/etc

The Boys is probably the only exception I've seen

Indigo

Sinister Blade
Lets discuss this once you watch the episode, then I will tell you what was changed.
i'm well aware of blood and cheese lmao

i've read the 5 ASOIAF books, just didn't get to read the spin offs, but i've read enough about them online

Well the GOT show heavily deviated from the books at times, The Whole Sand Snakes and Dorne plot was completely different in the show then in the books for example lol.

I've read the books so I know (haven't read any of the other stories yet though I'm interested in Dunk and Egg) that they changed a lot but I didn't really mind it tbh

I consider the show and the books to be almost entirely separate mediums

I don't really have a problem with changes/new plotlines if they're well written and make sense with the established characters

I think the reception for most of the changes were positive in GOT at least in the beginning

Like aging the Stark children up for example (though Rob making the "mistake" he made at a younger age would've made more sense)

Yeah they fucked up a certain scene and added some stuff that wasnt in the book lol.
What's new
If Ya'll watched GoT. Compared to books. Live action was just Directors headcanon lmao

Okayish it is.
It helps to interlinking the summerhall Tragedy because of Aegon V

So it doesn't quite compare to ASOIAF?

Unfortunate but that's not too surprising

I heard Fire and Blood is also a good read but not as intriguing as the regular story
Fire and Blood isnt exactly a story, more of like a History book where the events of the story are told through a Maester who had to get the story from a character named Mushroom who lived at the Kingslanding court as a jester, but we never see Mushroom in the show lol.

Fire and blood will only peak your interest if you were interested in Targaryen Plot. Which is almost non existent in GoT/ASoIaF.
Danayres and Jon barely knew anything of Targaryen.
Fire and blood deals more with how Dragon came to extinction.
And dunk / head deals with bringing back of dragons at the end of summer hall tragedy.

Jester bro is pretty major in Book lmao.

I'm not saying it was all good I'm saying the adaptation wasn't entirely negative especially at the beginning of the series

The Dorne plotline left a lot to be desired (and Myrcella's murder made no sense) but that was one misstep... a big one but still

I enjoyed it overall

Ohhhhhh I can see how that would be a completely different reading experience then

Might wait for the show then

Apparently they're messing things up though so maybe I should read it myself for the original experience

It isn't particularly relevant now but I like learning about the history of the 7 Kingdoms so I'm down for it

I'd take a F&B version of the history and downfall of Valyria before anything though

The Doom is such an interesting event that we know nothing about

the most interesting thing is how the history being told is changed because of the POV from the Jester and the Maester, trying to make it more dramatic, or making one side look better than the other

George is really good at this shit, the Elden Ring lore is filled with this shit

Personally speaking I don't think so we will ever get to know about Doom of valyria.

History starts from around 10~20 YEARS before the doom. By which time they already shifted to Dragon stone. Only thing to exist from Valyria is probably Belerion. Who died early in the show of House of Dragon Season 1.
