Same, I always enjoy it when Luffy gets beaten. Kaido one-shotting him is one of my favorite moments in the manga.

I think I agree, he had more story development and build up between those two arcs than majority of the strawhats had the entire story

Only for him not to join the crew and get destroyed as soon as he separated from them
