oda isnt "hyping" anyone up or "dehyping" kaido
somehow fans have convinced themselves how strong these characters are that oda fucking built than the author himself.
And based on these expectations, they think kaido is being held back when in reality you set placed him on a trash pedestal. If luffy had the ryou when he encountered kaido the first time,
he was doing serious damage.
Thats all it was.

Is it a full fight? All I read is kaido used a lightning attack and somehow kiku blocked it. Oh and izo shot at him. Kaido is still in dragon form hovering, why not go human and do them in like he did luffy? Oh right, plot.

Whats ironic is its from the same people. Like i'd understand if it was from 2 different groups, but you can literally point out the 5-6 people who routinely complain every week about either "useless characters fighting" vs. "WTF OFFSCREEN" from said "useless characters". Its ridiculous lol.

Anyway, I'm glad he's not offscreening this and I hope it honestly continues for a number of Chapters. The Scabbards payoff comes from showing off their skills and subsequently failing to kill Kaido. We need to see this as its been set up for 100s of chapters. Other offscreens make sense because we know those characters will be back, it does not here. This is what the scabbards were made for. They don't have a particular role after this.

Tell me why kaido is still in dragon form just standing there, throwing an attack from time to time that they can conveniently counter? Why doesn’t he go human and wreck them? It feels forced.

I feel the issue is that Oda did a poor job of hyping up the Scabbards because of Dressrossa, if he portrayed Kinemone and Kanjuro as being able to help the Strawhats but don't because it's not their fight it would have been a lot Better
