Kaido literally waited for Whitebeard to be distracted with a war to launch an attack on him, why didn't he do it sooner when WB could give his entire attention to Kaido?
Definitely not the same scenario. Big mom needed to get past Marco, she even told him to stay out of it. Big mom had access to all her people, so why didn't she just use it no diff Marco in 5 seconds to get rid of him?

if i were to guess it would be that kaido has a ranch against wb or something and he didn’t want to let him die at the hands of sailors, he would just kill him fairly in 1v1.
Another detail, the location of the WB that was made public with the MF war giving the opportunity to any pirate to go and kill him, said in the anime that the WB had not been in conflict for 2 years, in this case he hid from Kaido. I LAUGHED A LOT.
I don't see any cowardly action, he did not join the Navy or anything ... He would fight a fight against the WB even with all the Navy present, for kaido killing the old WB is more important than caring for the 3 LOL admirals.

Katakuri might never break through his regeneration, in that case the man definitely wouldn't stand a chance. I say perhaps he can, but he would struggle at it.
Furthermore, his Future Sight didn't prevent G4 Luffy to hit him and Marco is even faster than WCI Luffy, plus Luffy managed to read through it just after a certain number of blows and Marco could do the same.
Marco is so much more experienced than Luffy.
He will need time to put Katakuri down and it would not be immediate, but, I agree he can, no question at all.
