Neymar 100% could've been the next Messi. He was a similar package as well, an elite Goalscorer and an elite #10. He also had the output, in terms of G/A.

Emphasis on could've.
Now that next year Messi and Ronaldo were not there, he could win his first Ballon d'Or with a good performance and then leave Europe.
Unfortunately, Neymar cared about the margins and was not smart...Another destroyed talent

Neymar at his absolute peak could've been maybe 65% of messi
Neymar would've never been the goal scorer Messi is

Suarez's peak is closer to Messi and Ronaldo than Neymar

Output wise yea.

Neymar is a generational talent but yeah Messi is otherwordly, that 91 goals in a calendar year will never ever be broken.

If Halland stays at ManC for upcoming years then this guy will touch Messi and Ronaldo goal scoring records and it will pain me a lot.

Messi and Ronaldo at their peak were untouchables.. and then you get Halland who is all about finishing and tap ins to score goals. Smh
Haaland isnt doing much different from RM Cristiano in all honesty.

Let him score 91 goals in a year like Messi did then we'll discuss. City have a Legendary Treble winning team & a Legendary coach - just like Barca did.

Messi was putting up Haaland goalscoring numbers for Barca in his later years while also being the KdB of the team in terms of chance creation & ball progression. I kid you not, he was playing in KdB's area of the field, the season heatmaps are just super similar.

While also scoring once almost every 2 freekicks. Post 2015 Messi was too complete.

Nah, Messi is one of the best passers and playmakers in the history of the game. He sees the field differently, its almost like the man has hawk eyes of Takao from KnB. Without his prolific goalscoring, Messi would still become an elite playmaker like Xavi. Neymar's playmaking and vision are not on that level.

The next 10 golden balls will probably be divided among these people:
Halland
Mbappe
vini
Bellingham
Musiala
odegaard
maybe yamal
I just hope no one breaks Messi's record
But in scoring this year, Halland will probably break Messi's legendary record or at least come very close:josad:

WorstGen powerscaling branching off to sports :steef:
This is nothing, @Cinera created a tier list the forum users 2-3 years back, i.e. a powerscaling of powerscalers 😂😂

I dislike Messi very very very very very very very very …. very much
Dislike his personality
His fake nice guy persona
His behavior on the field
Lack of charisma
Disliked FC Barcelona (I’m team Madrid)
Disliked Argentina (football team obviously)
And they dared beat us (France) in the last World Cup
Cryyyyyyy

He isn't beating Messi 91 goals record.

What's more worrisome is that there are people who thinks just scoring tap ins make you the best player when Vini, Mbappe and even KDB and Osimhen are much more better.

Round 1: Passing = Ronaldo
Round 2: Dribling = Messi
Round 3: Shooting = Ronaldo
Round 4: Gols = Ronaldo
Round 5: Speed = Ronaldo
Round 6: Skills = Messi
Round 7: Assists = Ronaldo
Round 8: Game IQ = Ronaldo
Round 9: Penalties = Ronaldo

Round 1: Passing
Messi his only rivals are Xavi iniesta Pirlo scholes
Round 2: Dribling
Messi only one who was on same level was Ronaldinho at his peak
Round 3: Shooting
Almost equally good here
Cr7 had more goals i believe but he played a lot more games
Round 5: Speed
Goes to cr7 if we compare it in their prime but Messi wasn't behind by much
Round 6: Skills
Goes to cr7 Messi is more efficient
Round 7: Assists
Messi
Round 8: Game IQ
Messi and Iniesta
Round 9: Penalties
CR7 takes it
Round 10: Finishing
almost equally good here
Round 11: Trophies
Messi has won more trophies
Personal Question: Who is the Best Overrall?
This debate was finally settled when Argentina lifted the wc still CR7 remains one of the greatest players ever

I'd give every round to Messi except for speed and maybe penalties. He's just a better passer, dribbler and he's also more efficient on goals than Ronaldo even though he's also a freak and scored more career goals.

Now that they're both gone in Europe, it's Mbappe vs Haaland now. I'd go with Mbappe because he's more versatile in that he can create his own chances now in addition to doing the running from behind like Haaland does. He's basically becoming a one-man army now like Messi and Neymar before him.

Neymar at his absolute peak could've been maybe 65% of messi

If you're talking about 2012 Messi, then obviously no one could've but I think Neymar was the closest thing to Messi ever in terms of dribbling, passing, and scoring. Honestly, I think he's the best dribbler I've ever seen. The biggest difference between them though is that Neymar could never stay healthy after he went to PSG.

He also should've never left Barcelona.

Has he scored 31 goals so far?
His stats for 2023 are great for now, he needs 60 goals and the league has just started
No matter the number of goals and trophies, Maradona is one of the top 5 footballers in the world without a great record...I mean, Halland is a scoring machine, I wouldn't be surprised if the record for the most goals is set
