General & Others Eiichiro Oda: "The story is in the final phase"

By the time Wano ends, you’ll be older than me :willsmith:

I’m kinda impressed that you keep quoting me when you know you haven’t said a single thing that makes any sort of impact on my thinking…Oda’s bound to see your criticisms soon enough and change his ways, keep foaming at the mouth until that day!
Ah yes because I write on a forum in order to make Oda change his mind. That makes so much sense. And of course your thinking isn't affected even when provided evidence showing how flawed your thinking is since you wrap yourself in your own bubble not aware that maybe, just maybe, you are talking out your ass?

From Redon, Arlong Park;
>In the last promotional poster for One Piece Volume 100 launch, we can see Eiichiro Oda drawing One Piece chapter 1,010 name (chapter sketchs).
>There's a sentence said by Oda about the story of One Piece too...
>
Eiichiro Oda: "The story is in its final phase" (『物語は終盤です。』)

Thoughts on this?
He's been saying this for 3 years lol

Oda been saying stuff like that for years. Oda loves creating new ideas on the fly. In WCI, Oda said it was supposed to be a short rescue arc but became longer because he kept adding in new ideas. He went on say to he had to cut the arc short cause he made it too long. Arc ended being almost 70 chapters.
Lol it was 82 chapters, even longerXD

But yeah he's notorious for overshooting. I think a lot people also need to realise that he's also pretty good at "escalating" a scenario before a reaches its climax. What I mean by this is that it took ~300 or so chapters to even get to Wano from the point where Luffy claimed he wanted to defeat Kaido. Now we are nearing a 150 chapter arc plotline to tie that up.

Now when you add the myriad of bigger plotlines than Kaido, and pretty much every major character beyond this coalescing into a huge fucking final arc, you realise that the "final phase" is going to need a fuckton of buildup. Then after that buildup, you have to address it and conclude it. However many arcs that takes, and however long those arcs are is up to Oda, but people should find solice in that it's going to take longer than anticipated, definitely.

Its kinda insane and dissapointing that we are entering endgame with Zoro and Sanji having such little fights and Luffy having 500 :josad::josad::josad:
I mean they have potential to have no less than 3-4 more fights in the end.

Consider the factions still left.

- Blackbeard Pirates
- Marines
- WG
- Maybe Redhair Pirates

You can 100% tell Luffy is fighting Blackbeard, Akainu and potentially Im and Shanks. Of those, you can see that Zoro will likely fight Shiryu, an Admiral (Fuji maybe), the Monk Gorosei, and finally Mihawk. Follow the same logic for Sanji and others at different points. Not everyone will get a fight at every point, but it's safe to say Luffy, Zoro and Sanji will.

That's just those that we know. Nothing about the SSG or Elbaf central villains if they exist. So I wouldn't worry about this too much. There will be plenty of opportune moments in the EoS.

Next reveal going to be Vegapunk. Shanks arc won't be long arc. I don't think Elbaf will have its own arc. At best it will be done like Zou arc. May be it will play bigger role in final war saga. But for adventure, not much gonna happen.
