Bro if the past 10 or so years' history has taught me anything it's that Islamists are popping up everywhere. They evenn organized protests in support of a caliphate in Germany. When the protests in Egypt were happening 12? years ago most news outlets treated the Muslim Brotherhood as short lived and definitely not a threat for the future because "the protestors want democracy"
A few years later the war in Syria happened and we got ISIS gaining ground.

These countries aren’t just pieces on a chess board, they’re countries with families and people who can’t defend themselves against a monolith like China. People love to romanticize the idea of China making a move so that they can step in and be the hero who pushes China back, but I’m filled with anxiety for my family, who have to hear military planes invading the skies every single day without fail.

China is watching how the US handles the Ukraine war. As much as handing Russia the eastern territories sounds like it could calm things down and eventually put an end to this war, it might send a wrong message to China. They'll only attack Taiwan if they are confident they can get away with it.

We're already there. WW2 never really ended, it just shifted away from boots on the ground to more spycraft. The Cold War was more or less WW3. Modern countries can't handle the cost of rebuilding from those conflicts, so they've been using territory full of people who can't defend it to run proxy wars.
This isn't WW3, this is WW4. We've moved beyond espionage and into pure cyber warfare, where nearly everyone in a position of power is compromised to some extent. We learned how to use nukes in the 40s, I don't people realize what level of science the governments are fucking around with.
It's a technological arms race. I view the US as the aggressors, BTW, sorry if I made it sound like I want world war.
I've stopped looking at the Middle East as a warzone and more of an archeological dig site. The US government doesn't give a crap about anyone over there, they want the ancient history buried in the sands. Same with Antarctica.
The US and Russia were in a tech race for a while, but Russia just couldn't keep up with Europe + the US's global power. Europe having the US, a massive country separated by two oceans, as an economic pipeline made it impossible for Russia to hold out. So, they eventually started working with the Chinese, who have plenty of reasons to detest the West, especially Britain. While the US is still more advanced than China on a lot of levels, China has made BIG strides in rediscovering and utilizing ancient technology.
The fear isn't nukes/troops anymore. The science evolved beyond that. If we have a serious global conflict, it will last less than a week and destroy a metric fuckton of everything, and thankfully at least a decent number of people in power are smart enough to get that. An actual all out war would create a global reset, even without nukes.
This isn't the start of a war. This war has been going on for a very long time. Best wishes to you and your family. All the recent shutdowns of various economic services are a result of the current war. The US's inflation is so bad because Russia and China are constantly exploiting our PATHETIC infrastructure, and rich idiots in America sold the country out by shifting manufacturing into Asian countries to exploit cheap slave labor. Same with China, and especially Russia, the US and Europe have destroyed Russia economically in the last few years.
What we need more than anything is a person in a high position of power from the US or Chinese side to offer a legitimate peace deal that has sensible de-escalation and reparations for both sides. But the current leadership on both sides is too obsessed with beating the other guys, or, ahem, the "bad guys" that... well, here we fucking are.
IE: the problem is that people want to escalate from this current Cold War into full blown World War 4.
And I haven't even gotten into whatever the hell is going on outside the planet.
I believe there is a hole to Inner Earth in the middle of Antarctica and that many different "mythical" species, including dragons, still live there.

This strategy was conceptualized by the Russian Communists of Stalin's era. Look up Professor Yuri Bezmenov's speeches and lectures.
