You wanna see the difference in treatment? Law, who has always been in same boat as Kidd in terms of narrative and portrayal. probably got butt fucked by BB off-screen as well, but unlike Kidd, he at least appeared badass in fight against BB for a good while on-panel.

Kidd? He walks up to a bunch of weak as fuck fodder Captains, thinks of them as "Super strong," before proceeding to get neg diff'd one-shot by Shanks himself.

I don’t understand the complaints about Kid getting obliterated by Shanks. Can someone explain why they are upset? Kid lost to shanks. I don’t know what else we were expecting. Shanks chose to deal with Kid as fast as possible because he was actually going to do a lot of damage to the Red Hair Fleet. Did we not literally just see Kaido do the same thing happen to Luffy at the beginning of Wano??? 😂😂😂

Oda had to move on from Kidd and he didnt want to spend too many panels on this fight. The story doesn't move forward with Shanks and Kidd fighting for several chapters.

Could Kidd put a better fight? Probably. But there is a chance that could hurt Shanks' hype. Some of you would start to complain how weak Shanks is blah blah. Oda clowns Blackbeard because he can take it, his time to shine will come. For Shanks, this might be his only hype before getting destroyed by Blackbeard.

The sooner you fools realize that Oda doesnt give a shit about your powerscaling the better you will be.

Shanks has been made to look like God since chapter 1 bro. It was "surprising" how he wasted Kid in the moment, but in hindsight its really not.

- He clashes with WB with one arm
- He stops Kaido offscreen
- He stops Akainu and makes him nervous (not a powerscaling comment)
- He stops a war, both of which BB and Mihawk refuse to partake in once he arrives (not a powerscaling comment, it just is what it is)
- He meets with Gorosei
- He wifi diffs Ryokugyuu
- And if you want to include non-canon, he stops Kizaru and Fujitora and makes them sweat (not even Kizaru reacted to Rayleigh this way)


This shit with Kid was almost expected in hindsight. Again, surprising, but its in line with Shanks' portrayal. He is Roger's protege after all.

The character having these qualities isnt bad writing, its fucking writing on the wall lol. He could very well be Luffy's greatest obstacle and we just dont know it yet.

The issue isn't just that he lost.
Dude got literally no diff'd along with his supernova first mate, after his feats against BM (in before usual slander of "mid carried by Law", yes law did more damage, but Kid was the main character who engaged in physical combat against BM)

Yes, I know swordsmen have high damage output for their tier. Still, it shouldn't be a one shot. The attack was likely even just Shanks' staple attack like thunder bagua is for Kaido, not some super high end move.

Look at also the narrative implication here. Kid and co were the only other group that could even remotely compete with SHs. Kid is built similar to Luffy, in persona (but more violent). Has a good first mate, and 2 other decent fighters (Heat/Wire). They had some potential, but now it's all buried

I am not a Kidd fan. And he is loosing against Shanks is what I expected. But him (and killer at the same time) getting negged like this is not only bad for him as Luffy's rival that has been developed since Sabaody but also makes the other Yonkos and Admirals looks bad.
Shanks is one of the strongest, or maybe even the strongest currently and I have no problem with that. But 1079 makes his other competitors looks like they have no chance against him. It was a bit too much for me.

Instead we got complete assassination of a character build so far to such extent that nothing can be done to recover from this anymore.
And, if getting one shot by shanks wasn't enough - he put killer as collateral damage and to put final nail in the coffin - made Dorry and Broggy destroy kidd pirates

Whereas law crew whom we were expecting to be total fodder put up good show against BBP.

That's huge difference in the portrayals of two similarly situated characters.

Most of the Zoro fans didn't want him to be Ryuma's descendent. Who TF is celebrating this? I see some Zoro haters celebrating this and Zoro's family being offscreened to some SBS, not Zoro fans.

Plus, Zoro has like 0.01% Ryuma genetics, which is pretty close to what we want. Ryuma's genetics is practically non existent in him. What he has in inherited will, which is a theme in OP

Kid needed to learn the hard way. It's as simple as that.

Because it makes Shanks look like a retard as well, if he could one shot Kidd like this, I can barely see him have any problems defeating Linlin or even Kaido for that matter, it makes every Kaido and Linlin attack look fodder in comparison to that.

And it also kinda diminishes Luffy's whole accomplishment of being PK, because someone this strong was gatekeeping anyone of actually becoming the Pirate King.

I hope all this hype serves to BB latter down the line if he indeed defeats Shanks or something along the lines, because as of now, I can't see Shanks having a problem defeating most people in the verse.
