Current Events Is Oda leaving Sanji behind?

Is sanji no longer in the league of Zoro and Luffy?

  • Yes but this gap was there from the beginning

  • Yes but the gap became more apparent since Time skip

  • Yes but sanji will close the gap in future

  • There is no gap because I read two piece

  • Gap is there but atleast his neck isn't getting squeezed like King and Queen 🤭

Sanji being a cook does not mean he is not a great fighter yea.

But it's just not a strenght driven ambition. Unlike, let's say Zoro, whom we know needs to become a top tier to achieve his dream and therefore is guaranteed to make it as a top tier, but the story doesn't require Sanji to be that great of a fighter.

So Sanji doesn't really NEED to be a top tier because it's not his goal to reach that level and he would be perfectly fine as YC1 level by the end of the story (which would be already amazing considering he's the 3rd strongest), but that doesn't make him a bad fighter, does it?

Now we are seeying Luffy & Zoro pitted agaisnt top tiers and that is because we are approaching the end of the series and they need to step up hard unlike Sanji who doesn't need to evolve that fast.
Again you are trying to apply ambition and goal as a reason to measure Sanji's strength. Who said Sanji does not need to be a top tier??? You say the story does not require him to be strong yet he has a high bounty and is regarded a top threat.

Its like people around here are scared Sanji willl do something that will overshadow their favorite character. This last chapter got some many people gas up that they are already running to conclusions and the versus fights has not even began.

I think Zoro wouldn't get affected by invisibility that much since he already lacks one eye lol

Well and also basic CoO training as we saw with Luffy is managing to dodge without vision, pretty sure anyone with decent CoO can fight an invisible dude.
Sanji was invisible literally directly under the nose of two calamities and neither sensed him so I think sensing invisible people using CoO isn’t that easy

Does the story say that Sanji MUST be top tier or no ? Is it necessary ? Would it be bs if Sanji ends up being YC1 ? I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm just saying it is not necessary.
Sanji is a member of the monster trio. He’s taken up as captain in Luffys absence. Sanji wants to protect Usopp Nami and Robin and everyone else. Yes his desire to protect necessitates him being stronger. And Sanji takes his strength seriously. It’s not secondary to him

Sanji was literally there when Momonosuke made the whole declaration to Kaido and the Kaido ordered his execution. He praises Momonosuke for it after he saves him.

There were multiple top tier and high tier characters on that stage and everyone was oblivious to Sanji's presence :kayneshrug:
he says himself its just a visual thing

This argument would work for Usopp, Chopper, Nami, Brook, Franky and Robin. It does not apply for Sanji. Sanji is seen as a top tier fighter on the crew. You want it to be unnecessary for some strange reason.

I'm not saying he isn't taking his strenght seriously and whatnot, I'm only saying the story doesn't require him to be at the top tier level and that's a fact, that's all.
And well you are picking at straws here, If someone needs to protect someone they need to be top tiers then, would we apply that logic to Franky or whatever if Sanji's not there?

Because Sanji is always the one who comes in to protect those weaker than him. He thinks that’s what strength is for.

Sanji needs to be strong enough for Luffy to trust his ability to protect the crew as much as he trusts his own or Zoro's. That's always been the case.

Luffy relies on and believes in Zoro's and Sanji's strength to that extent.

Even Zoro has that same trust in Sanji

I made several posts about this particular subject matter and it was crystal clear to me how Sanji, due on the one hand lacking motivations to consistently train to get more powerful and on the other hand lacking Whitebeard's plot and DF hax (since his goals weren't strictly strenght related), then Sanji should not attain the PL of a powerhouse, hence none of these.
