As much as i like yamato, i'm still doubting her to join the crew like the other character. Ngl she get some spotlight these recent chapter and become the best candidate of a future SH

I dont know if she's going to continuing or repeating oden. She might want to see the world like oden did or she might wants to stay in wano watching the opened-wano and protecting it. She might follow or maybe marry momo or imitates oden like "yamato and 9 black spikes"

I want to see her interaction with momo and the scabbard + flashback with ace first.

I like the idea of Yamato becoming one of the SH's but I have a problem with her Oden mentality especially that we are in the New World and not in the pre-time skip.

Her happy go lucky Oden style might be problematic especially post Wano.

Even Luffy is slowly developing "shit this pirate thing is no joke" mindset.

It's the reverse and it's Oda's fault.

Luffy still wrecked havoc in Onigashima and running around causing ruckus.
Zoro telling Luffy to chill while he himself cut a large building (this is probably supposed to be a joke but left bitter taste to me)
Sanji goes from Mr. Prince that can trick Crocodile and unlocking the gate in Ennies Lobby, into a guy thinking with his small dick in Onigashima.


We are in New World and the Straw Hats still don't take it seriously, and Oda forces something critical into gags everytimes.

My problem with Yamato is that at this point in the story, it is too late for a newly introduced character to join the crew.

I mean, entering the final stretch of the adventure, it gives me the impression that this person did not have enough adventures and '' moments '' to be worthy of being a straw hat.

Jinbe for example, since impel down is part of Luffy's history, life and adventures in some way. Oda is creating a lot of his interactions with strawhatz to give us the feeling that he has been traveling with them for a long time.

Carrot seems to me the most real bet, she has been venturing with Strawhatz since Zou, and she already has interaction and a very strong bond with all of them to fit in.

when did she bonded with the captain of the crew. If Luffy found her a potential Nakama he would have invited her in few seconds after meeting her like he did to Brook

Not sure about being Nakama, but I'm sure we need female Yonko or Goko (whatever the name will be) once Big Mom is defeated. So we have Luffy, Katakuri, Yamato, Shanks and BB. Another supernova might take the spot though.

You know, I'm all for Yamato joining at the end of the arc... but her dream certainly won't be to see the world. We already have a character with that dream, and her haters have stated that it wasn't worthy of a Strawhat Dream or something. That character's name is Carrot who, unlike Yamato, needs a reason to be so prominent in the story since her heritage or family lineage isn't enough to warrant it (unlike Yamato in this case).

Seems like nakama hype again for some people, but we'll see. Fans tend to latch onto "cool" characters first and foremost.

I'd rather people wait a couple of chapters before drawing conclusions.

In WCI it was established that the lookout is best filled by Carrot due to her jumping ability.
She also doesn't mess up the power scaling within the crew while Yamato will push Sanji into the weaker half of the crew.

Count me in my friend! If Yamato doesn't join, ban me for a month... If that happens AND Carrot joins the crew, give me a permaban (I won't make another account, IPs can be easily tracked using Xenforo tools even if I mask with VPNs and whatnot)...

Lookout? LOL... Can't even notice Daifuku's genie approaching...

And what's with the power scaling concern? I just don't get people having a concern over that thing as if it's something major or crucial... I don't think anyone who will join, especially new characters would shake ZSJ... Besides, it doesn't matter... Oden (also a CoC guy) joined Roger Pirates when it was already established that Rayleigh and Gaban were Roger's "best guys"... If any, I believe Yamato would only be a mid tier...

You're correct with Franky's dream, but it's specifically to carry Sunny to the ends of the world, not just himself... Jinbe's dream is to end racism, especially between humans and fishmen, as well as recognition among their race...

Yamato? I'm sure you don't expect her dream to be specifically revealed immediately during her introduction... But we know that she wants to be like Oden...
