Yamato:
There is no need to spend 2 pages for her doing explanation about the spy tools and stuffing Momo. It can be done in 1 page. We can safely assume that Oda wants to draw that cool Shin... Yamato pose (just like Robin's cool entrance pose), for popularity poll purpose, or giving her enough significance/importance in reader's heart. Just like all SH in their joining arc.
Carrot:
Oda purposely leaving out her situation updated means that we will get a longer pages of her & pero fight. Probably a "finisher chapter", where it takes 1 whole chapter to straight up KO Pero.
Momo:
I heard some Beast Pirates mention "the next shogun is here" in a panel before they hit the door. If they meant Yamato, then it's ok/normal since they're her subordinates. If it means Momo, then this is just another hint that he's going to stay.

If she's supposed to join, Oda should've shown her in a panel of Usopp / Nami part.
In the end, just like 1003, 1005 shows Franky, Jinbe, Usopp, Nami, Sanji, and Yamato. Repeated panel time like this means they're the focus.
Of course, we can say "It's Momo situation that is being shown, not Yamato". This may be true, but remember, 1003 panel shows Yamato as the focus on that panel, not Momo. Oda is emphasizing her, not him.

Tama and Yamato will becoming the next SH Grand Fleet which both as Captains of Kibi Dango Pirates.
Momo will be new Shogun of Wano with Red Scabbard as guardians.
EDIT: Change my mind, Tama will stay at Wano, to be Momo bride that is.
Yamato to lead 500 Smile User as a Neo Beast Pirates and claiming as one of SH Grand Fleet.

@ExcaliburLazar can't talk about spoilers here man, have to wait until the chapter releases.
I actually consider it as a pros of her not joining. She is just too special among the other Straw hats, so much special it actually blinds you how special she is, it makes the other crewmembers look "pale" in comparison. So she might as well stay special by tagging along for some time but never join.
With just 22 or so chapters in, Yamato already has so much packed into their character that it's hard to ignore.
-Asked to Board Luffy's ship and stated multiple times they wanted to leave?
-Had a lot focus in 999 and 1000
-Oda went out of his way to tie the vivre card thing(even though it felt a little shoehorned in)
-Built up intro with a dramatic twist
-tied directly with the antagonist, with an alluded tragic backstory
-Unique color scheme and design
-Personality quirk
- connection to Ace and Knows Luffy s dream
Overall, they're getting main character focus currently in the story.
