Not true, i am not going to repeat myself but you can go around youtube and see the amount of theories about ZKK from zoro fans. There is alot and you will see not only from the people making the videos but from the comments to the videos that most Zoro fans wanted kaido and not only wanted kaido but wanted ZKK to happen. And still do.

No stop downplaying the effort people put into their theories, It wasnt just guessing lmao. It was people making threads and videos 30 minutes long about ZKK and zoro fighting kaido, Supported with EVIDENCE from the manga and the sbs etc. It wasnt just a guess. It was an educated theory. And many people seen these videos and theories and participated in them and believed in them for many years.

again, there is nothing that suggests a likeable character cannot be badly written
I don’t hate Oden... Dude I’m a Zoro fan, why the hell wouldn’t I like ANOTHER badass swordsman type... that’s exactly my type character... I love his fighting style, I love some of the ridiculous manliness shit, I love that he’s sort of chill as well in some interesting ways for example I think my favorite scene of his is his last conversation with his father where he says something like “I haven’t changed but if I have then it’s because you are good father” or something like that... In fact that’s a scene of his I went back to the anime to watch specifically...
BUT he’s not a good character outside of his archetype... I like these things in isolation but they don’t work when you put them in context... for example that scene with his father that I liked... I kept thinking about it very much and it sort of sets up a bad precedent. Oden does in fact not change... I like that scene on its own for the general chillness Oden has and the type of archetype of character he is, but then when you look at it in context, it’s about Oden actually being a guy who doesn’t change
And I can go into this specific trait about Oden going all the way to end of the flashback and how badly it’s implemented... And I can even compare it to Luffy who also doesn’t change and how this trait works better with him
Again I should repeat this... Being likeable doesn’t make you a good character... Because there are good characters who are thoroughly unlikable, by design... I for one do not like Guts from Berserk... He’s compelling as fuck because he’s a good character and he’s even that same archetype of character I like, the badass swordsman, but damn I just don’t like the guy at all... like I read berserk and I see the guy try to rape his mentally ill wife and I’m fuck this guy, I fuckin don’t like him... but I keep reading coz he’s still compelling to read about

Well at the beginning of Wano, everyone were expecting Zoro vs King and after that killing Kaido above Wano. Because we were following a logic that Zoro should take a YC1 lvl character before the yonkou. Also because we wanted Zoro to learn how to cut fire.
But Oda actually wanted something else and gave us Zoro vs Kaido directly and the ability to cut fire. So the 2 or 3 who wanted Kaido only are right for now^^
Also true that in the 98%, lots of them dropped Zoro vs King. Can't blame them, Oda needs to make something logic and remove Zoro from the roof top especially when the others WG are not doing that great, even Luffy needs Zoro to help him so how they gonna do against BM and Kaido without Zoro ?
I still want King vs Zoro because they are swordsmen but if it doesn't happen, that means Zoro will stay and fight Big Mom and Kaido until the end, so let's be honest it's even better.

At least someone acknowledging that this shit happened instead of gaslighting me. I'm a zoro fan too and I have the balls to to be pretty happy with the results while also acknowledging that it wasn't something I expected.
