The Grandmaster will probably play the ground and see if Luffy is able to defeat Kaido without relying on his help. And if Luffy is defeated blatantly enough ZDK is most likely happening too other than ZKK.

It's probably just a 15 pager with no actual story reason though. Oda tends to do these every once in a while.

I do find that he does them on "lesser" signficant moments though. (Aka a chapter that doesn't accomplish much)

this has to be one of the worst wano chapters yet
The only worse chapter I can think of right now was the one where Franky was running around the capital looking for blueprints for half of the chapter
