I think it's more a fun take on his name. It's first letter is P, prounounced "pé" in French.

I smell that there is something really fishy with Kanjuro having seemingly not warned Orochi and the Beast Pirates yet about the alliance and their attack. It's either plot armor or PIS or something really wrong for the alliance is going to happen. The fact that the BMP have not exactly joined the party with the Beast Pirates either is another potential big factor.
