So next chapter is probably the beginning of Elbaf, what a threat to read through this again 2 years later lmao.
At this rate, Elbaf doesnt even seem to be focusing on the Yonko or Akainu or Imu. And if its not focusing on the Burned Scar Man or Rocks (if they arent the same person), then its some new villain. Considering Oda's tendency for long arcs, cant see how this is any shorter than 3 years.
So the 5 year mark probably just gets us out of Elbaf and barely into whatever even comes next. Hopefully now people get with it to not believe Oda's nonsense.
People will never learn.
I've given up on it, since this discussion ("it will end in three years") has been present for way over a decade now and there are always quite a lot of naive fans who actually believe it.
Elbaf alone is basically guaranteed to be a 40+ chapter arc at the very minimum (knowing Oda a 90 chapter arc is more realistic).
It would also fit his tendency to always couple arcs in badges of n*50 chapters (post-skip example: FI 50 chapters, PH + Dressrosa 150 chapters, Zou + WCI 100 chapters, Wano 150 chapters, Egghead + Elbaf ???).
Then we are STILL not at Laughtale and the final war with all the meat of the story hasn't started either (void century flashback, SH vs BB, war against the WG etc.).
That's easily another 100+ chapters, since the raid on Onigashima alone took 70 chapters and was on a much smaller scale compared to the final war.
So at the very MINIMUM we have another 140 chapters to go, which would be over 4 years with Oda's current pacing.
More realistically it will be something about 190 chapters (or even more) left, which would mean another 6 years and OP ending around 2030.
