Oda: Zoro is one of 3 main characters in One Piece. Zoro's goal is to achieve 1of 2 official strongest titles. I had Luffy specifically seek out Zoro for his strength.

The man who is constantly paralleled with legends such as Rayleigh and Ryuma and Mihawk, the man who is thought to be the Moon, the other side of the Sun, paralleled with Oden and seen as a continuation of his deeds in order to slay Kaido.

Plenty of arguments back up this theory, while stupid luffytards just keep failing again and again.
Actually luffytards shouldn't be taken seriously right after Zoro appeared in front of Kaido. Cuz they yelped that Zoro would never even face Kaido and his final opponent is someone like Page one
