there was a time where I made a post comparing coc moments and zorovmoments that are likely CoC
The pattern for CoC has been consistent for awhile now. Since the begining ofthe series, end of preTs, during TS and postTS.
Step 1: Before coc usage, the coc users eyes are normal
Step 2: Oda normally focuses on the coc user's face and eyes, their eyes change from their normal appearance, then he focuses on the face and eyes of the victim of coc.
Step 3: After CoC usage, Oda shows that the coc user's eyes return to normal
Thereis also the new one of Zoro vs Urashima and Enma. I will find the panels and add them.
Cracker vs the homieswas different from oda's usual CoC pattern and even Luffy commented that it wasnt CoC. Cracker's eyes never change before using CoC, after using CoC. http://imgur.com/3Zz15Hc
@Den_Den_Mushi, can you inform me if the sfx for cracker is similar to the others. Also if Zoro's are similar tothe others. I already know Zoro vs Monet is similar.
Yeah this is why to me Perona and Mihawk will always be Zoro’s real family. For all that the straw hats care about each other, we hardly ever see them doing normal things together or having a proper family dynamic. Brook, for example, isn’t really that close to anyone in particular on the crew and feels like the creepy uncle that shows up at family gatherings but nobody knows why. But I digress lol.
I’d love for Oda to draw a cover page or something of Perona, Zoro and Mihawk all taking turns to do chores and cook for each other. Even the story of how Mihawk decided to take up gardening and wear straw hats would be cool, I’m sure Zoro had something to do with that.
Zoro's family is the strawhats cmon guys why do I always read shit like that here lmao
But you got a point Zoro passed more time with Perona and Mihawk than with the rest of the crew. That goas with everyone on the crew and the person they trained

From what you guys have shown me (thanks to everyone who linked panels) COC tends to have 3 main sound effects
ギン - glare
ギロ - Sharp glare
ドクン - sudden pulse like a heartbeat
And occasionally ゴオォ(intimidating aura)
The Cracker panels have
ゴゴゴ and ゴオォ(intimidating aura) which Zoro has shown sometimes and Mihawk showed this at Marineford, however Oda specifically said it wasn’t haki in this moment. Not sure what Cracker used to intimidate the homies but it does seem different to Zoro/Mihawk, whose opponents seemed to foresee the aftereffects of Zoro/Mihawk’s attacks. We also don’t really know how homies work and how you can exorcise or kill them, Amande killed King Baum but he apparently resurrected later and this was never explained...
Eh I’m not getting a lot of familial vibes from the straw hats right now. Maybe a brotherly bond between Luffy and Zoro but looking at say Zoro and Brook, Zoro and Franky, or Brook and... everyone else? There’s not much going on there. Not to mention that Mihawk is acting in a fatherly way towards Perona now, contributing to the impression that those three are indeed a family with pets aka the humandrills.

For me it’s not about how often we see them but rather how they relate to and interact with each other. The SHP post timeskip act more like a typical pirate crew than a family, there are very few times where they’ve been shown interacting casually or in a familial way. Doesn’t help that newer additions to the crew like Brook and Franky don’t really hang out with the East Blue 5 and they don’t really have anything in common. We’ve also seen the crew split up more times than they’ve actually been together post Sabaody, which really diminishes the familial vibes we used to get preskip.
I mean at the end of the day, the truth is that Zoro has spent more time with Mihawk and Perona than his crew and Mihawk and Perona actively look out for Zoro in the papers much like a concerned family would. Perona sat in on Zoro’s training sessions, everyone shared Mihawk’s signature red wine and they took turns cooking for each other. I’d say that’s more like family to me than anything I’ve seen from the SHP.
