Man I just like kuina and want to see a strong female swordsman

Also sabo and Saul’s fake out deaths don’t change how those “deaths” effected and molded Luffy or Robin
You absolutely know it's not the same, just like I know this isn't about wantint to see a strong female swordsman. You could be wishing for one to appear without wishing for her to be Kuina.
Luffy's and Robin's dreams aren't about a promise they made a deceased friend, that's a false equivalence.
Everything about Zoro's determination stems about Kuina being dead. His promise wasn't even about
him becoming WSS, but about one of the two. Zoro knew Kuina was stronger than him back in the day and would have ultimately been fine with her growing to be the WSS. It's because she can't anymore that Zoro is proxy-carrying her dream through their promise.
Yes, Zoro has already been
effected and
molded, but he would still be cheapened as a character if it was suddenly all a lie
. He could still save this angle by finally beating Kuina and carrying on, but the whole scenario would lose a
ton of weight.
There's also a different angle: How far Zoro's gone for the memory of a friend... a friend that would have faked her death for absolutely no reason, and that for some reason didn't even trust him enough to let him know she was alive while Zoro was literally living for her in his own way.
Is there a satisfying way to write the plot out of that one without cheapening Zoro's character?

Just a quick question for those who hate the fake-out deaths: You must hate all the resurrections in Naruto and Dragon Ball then, too, yes? Because the concept of anyone dying has lost all meaning in especially the latter.
On the original run, yes. The solution to that for me was not taking DB's plot and death seriously.
I still try to take OP seriously (to a point).
