His speech about how humans always do what they are not told to do is similar to Kaido's speech about humans never giving up on hope, but later he reveals to Yamato that she is an ONI (demon).

Kaido speaking about humans:

It makes sense for Kaido to talk about humans this way, especially if it's later revealed in the story that he doesn't belong to the human race. If Kaido is from a different race, his words may reflect his viewpoint and perception of humans as a separate species. What eventually happened is clear.

The reference to Saturn making this separation may indicate that he belongs to a different species, but it can also suggest the nature of his discrimination. The fact that he holds the highest position of authority in the world, above the Celestial Dragons, who consider themselves gods despite being humans, adds complexity to this situation. One can interpret that Saturn holds a position of superior authority due to his origin or special characteristics, and this may influence his attitude towards humans; in other words, he refuses to accept his own humanity, hiding behind privileges, status, and positions.

What do you think, what is Saturn?

I really think he and the other Gorosei are just extraordinarily powerful humans who have received the OP Op surgery, are boosted by Imu's powers/magic, and have zoan awakening

I think the whole storyline about Mjosgard and Homing just being regular humans would be contradicted if the top celestial dragons weren't really humans

Though them being literal demons is cool as hell, and if Oda can execute it in a cool manner, I'm all for it

In the end, we'll have one of those cliché plots where the guys deny their humanity for X and Y reasons, but in the end, beneath all those layers they hide behind, they are human, and someone is going to tell them that straight to their face...

I agree with you about the rest, but I'm hoping that Saturn is an Oni.

Yeah, it's probably going to be exactly like those cliche storylines, mostly because of the reasons you mentioned here:

His dialogue is strangely similar to Kaido's though.... There's always a possibility he has oni horns or something underneath that hat in human form, but I don't think he will be one.

His human appearance is just a disguise, an oni in human skin. What would people think if they were ruled by demons? LMAO... They need to pretend to be human at least. Saturn's horns are on display in its current form. LOL. I know, there's a 1% chance of him being an Oni.
I really wish Oda would explain the Oni race so much that I'm digging a well where there's no water. :catcry:

Normal Tenryubito already believe themselves to be something greater than humans. I don't see much of a difference with the Gorosei other than the later have:
- Devilish Zoan Fruits.
- Longevity.
- CoC.
- Overall great strength.

Which to me just means "top of the cream tenryuubito who underwent the immortality surgery later than Imu", and they probably use very carefully selected/meaningful Devil Fruits.

Edit: For reference, we already know for sure that normal Tenryubito, who also speak like Saturn and think nothing of "humans", are just former human kings. Nothing less, nothing more.

I mean, Oni might be to Ancient Giants what Buccaneers are to regular Giants. It didnt get revealed because Oda wanted Kuma to feel a bit more special.

As for the Gorosei, I just think they are scummy humans who think they are above others because they technically are immortal (confirmed this chapter). Remember that its now than 20 kingdoms revolted against the Ancient Kingdom. It is likely these people are all human then.

As of now, there's no real evidence to suspect that he's not human. Like you say celestial dragons think of themselves as gods so they look down on people and his form might just be a devil fruit with a bit more lore that we will get later on.

I think one of the major themes that Oda has been building on is the way humans have treated other races and I think he would lose that a bit if the gorosei are nonhuman beings like demons who just influence other humans. I think they are part of the original 20 kingdoms and I believe they are all humans who were somewhat motivated to keep humans on top of the food chain

Looks like Human to me, just like the other Gorosei. It fits the narrarive of the Celestials thinking of themselves as gods or dragon-kinds. When Doflamingo's family decided to move from Marijoa, they said they they are all humans.

Saturn being so old isn't extraordinary either. Dr. Kureha for example is also 140. Could be different explanation to this other than him being of a different race.

most logical option is that he a human who possesses a mythical Devil Fruit and underwent the surgery for immortality.
but i personally like the idea of imu and 5 elder being actual demons more than having a mythical demon zoan

For his actual words I would wait for the official translation since this early ones are always different from the official ones. Based on the drawings he doesn't seam to have aged this could mean he is some sort of immortal, but he and the others could also be creations of Imu or Mu, as he refers to himself. He could be a humunculus type of creature similar to the vegapunks they all have their own personality and will but still were created by Vega
Post automatically merged:

Or his df is similar to Marco's and has regeneration powers and he went to the surgery

Ah, so he's just a human. I was thinking he might be more than that because the Yonko are all abnormal monsters. Kaido is an Oni, Big Mom was born a freak, Blackbeard can consume two Devil Fruits, Whitebeard apparently comes from the same race as Kuma, known for being very strong and having giant blood, and Shanks is the Haki god.
