General & Others Who still thinks Zoro surpasses Oden this arc ?

Would Zoro defeat Oden in 1 vs 1 combat at the end of Wano ?

The difference is
Kaido with luffy said
Are you implying you are as strong as them
Not kaido said luffys as strong as them

With kaido already saying there is no samruai as monsterous as oden
All thats there is for zoro to prove that wrong and show there is. Kaidos comments on that will follow suit.
Keep in mind that even the Scabbards had a moment where they reminded him of Oden, but they did not do quite enough.

Zoro will get closer and at the very least Kaido will think that he's a man like Oden, with potential to reach those same heights, the way Luffy made a big step and will eventually force him to also acknowledge that he's made of the same stuff as the likes of legends like Roger and Whitebeard.

For the black blade argument.

Yes, i can understand why people think it’s too early for Zoro to do it. Too early, hasn’t yet mastered the sword, all good reasons

but

No matter when Zoro does it- he’s going to make Oden look bad retrospectively. Whether Zoro turns Enma black in Wano or by EoS, he’s doing something Oden failed to do in decades in the space of a year, and with a lot less battles.

There’s also the fact that there will never be a more narratively appropriate time for Enma to be made a black blade than now. Enma is Oden’s sword. It’s being used against the man who killed Oden. It’s being used in order to defend Oden’s family and people, and achieve Oden’s dream. It is in the land of samurai, where a famous swordsman, with a connection to Zoro, also forged his black blade- and that samurai‘s most important fight seems to have been against a dragon like Kaido

This being the arc where Enma becomes a kokuto just fits. The pieces are all there to be slotted into place. It won’t have have the same weight in a fight against Mihawk, or Shiryu. There, it just one of three swords, and tbh, Wado is more important, as the sword that has been Zoro’s since childhood. This is the arc where Enma is a big plot point, a tangible connection between the dead Oden and the present day fight.
He will do so eventually, so it does not matter he does it now

That´s not an argument. Zoro will eventually make every swordsman look bad in comparison.

Because the scabbards failed to do what oden did
zoro will not
why would kaido see zoro do what the scabbards could not break his words on never being a samurai as monstrous as oden for him to then talk about potential ?
Once again kaido never said luffy is like them he said does LUFFY think hes like them

The Scabbards failed to open the old scar and Zoro will not fail.

And by the end of Wano Kaido will acknowledge that he is. That's why the question is raised. It's all about proving that they have the same potential as those legends, and are making significant steps into reaching the same heights.

How can it be potential when hes matching the feat ? What will he be building up to ?

Kaido looked at opening the scar at a lesser feat than making it in the first place. He told the Scabbards that they could "not even" do that, so they have no chance to be like Oden, and thus concluded that a samurai like him will never be born again.

Zoro opening the scar proves that a samurai like Oden was born again.

Will be a big difference wether Kaido says Zoro just reminds him of Oden or goes as far as to say that he's even stronger than Oden.

For example Luffy made him think of not just Oden but the likes or Roger or Whitebeard, and that does not mean Luffy is as strog as them or stronger.
Luffy is surpassing them in the sense that none of those men were able to end Kaido's career as a pirate even if they defeated him. He wonders if Luffy compares himself, and in another sense he'll still need to do more to prove himself after since there's more to becoming pirate king.

Zoro in Wano being as strong as Oden, however, is still surpassing Oden. At the end of his life Oden was nearly twice the age of Zoro. Anything he does next would be more than Oden aside from getting some hip and sexy proteges.

That went out the window when he used santoryu
the scar is an x shaped 2 sword move
zoro will be making his own mark on top of opening it

This is simply about strength at this point in time. Come the end of this arc, is Zoro already strong enough to defeat Oden if they were to fight.

Zoro is not fighting Kaido 1 vs 1 as Oden did, and is mostly set up to open a scar already made by Oden. That's for the Wano arc, later on he is being set on the path to surpass Oden.

Santoryu did nothing so far, we don't know what technique he will have to use to open that scar.

He was using Santoryu to no effect against Mr1 as well for example, and ended up using Ittoryu to cut him down.

Then he already surpassed Oden, and even stronger guys by that logic, since they were not as strong as Zoro is now with 21.
That´s not how it works.

That would be a no. I think it’s gotten to a point where it’s pretty clear that Oden was a top tier, unless you think Zoro is going to be above a guy like Shanks post Wano then there is no reason to believe that this is going to be case. Taking Kaido 1v1 =\ taking him on in a team battle. Those are two different things.

If he does 3 sword style means that he created another Scar.

Shanks>>Pden

The difference with the point I was making is that it relies on us seeing that Zoro is at least that strong. It's not just comparing 21 vs 21, because that's worthless if Zoro never actually gets to where Oden ended up. If Zoro is right there then he's guaranteed to get stronger than Oden.
