I would not be too excited about admiral candidates except for the likes of Coby and Smoker, and even then they will presumably stand as much weaker than the original C3 at first.

On the contray, Sanji has shown time and time again that he can handle bladesmen and swordsmen. And not only that, but Jinbe and Franky are also fighting swordsmen.
