Controversial Why are people se pressed about Elon musk buying twiiter

Oh please another musk apologist
I am not apologist. You are just accusing of someone who hasnt committed crime.

If you have proof sure go head will read those.

Its just business, he is trying to charge to average twitter user now for some perks, if it wasnt for profit musk would have never tried to buy twitter.
This wont work so well for him, people will figure this out(most already did) and move to other platforms, its not like twitter offers some revolutionary experience, its just a chatting platform.
As for the platform there will be almost no changes, just more misinformation going around and this is it.
Already said that.

Tiktok kinda finished twitter and Facebook . Musk is planning to compete against tiktok with his premium version it will implode for sure. He will totally sell it in few years .

My evil company is already leaching the employees like a bunch of vultures. Anyways, I expect twitter to die now unless they dramatically change the business model. Little guys like me with only 50k followers are already starting to pack it up on mastodon. It just business.

Advertisers are not left, they like to virtue signal because they think it improves their image, two different things. Just read a few min ago that Audi for example, a company that blatantly manipulated NxO values of their diesels to make a profit, will for now stop ads on Twitter.
Pretty funny.

Jack Dorsey is busy with his BTC projects apparently.

Verification is open for everyone.
Ultimately, I think he will introduce a tier system, 8 dollars will get you verified, a higher amount different perks and probably different colored checkmark.
The $8/month is just for the people who are already verified to stay verified. (who are mostly rich people/celebrities). Or to get verified, currently there are just 400K people that are verified

Elon Musk will figure out a way to improve the platform and make more money from advertisers, just a matter of time

Its easy to see admiration/hate. Don't expect controversial people to make it in the advertisment business.

Got it

Dont see many people IMO really willing to pay $8 a month to be verified. Main way to make money is to monetize advertising on platform which im confident he will do

FB was debating on charging people (monthly/yearly) forgot which one to have an account. Reason they choose not to do it.

The amount of data he has access too. It is why Tesla was a good investment, because it was constantly able to collect data. Elon will do same with twitter and make it successful

its a bit overblown if you are talking about in regards to any changes within the app itself
some people think it's going to be their "free speech " utopia , its not , because profitability on twitter is almost 90% through advertisements. in other words, the corporate world, most of whom will not sponsor a vile , unmoderated social media platform, will in large part control the direction of moderation on the platform . Actually I think they put a tweet out that activist are already clamping down on advertisers who are now pausing their advertisements, even though changes havent been made in moderation already which is just a sign of things to come. To the people upset at the activist , they are exercising their right to free speech, lol .

But enough of all that
that stuff doesnt matter . Here in SF where twitter is HQ'd.
Am not sure if you are aware but another reason is he plans on getting rid of a huge chunk of the workforce . Started already actually, panic for that is really real ; some engineers were fortunate to job hop months ago , others unfortunately arent and might be on the chopping block. The reality is elon got conned into buying an unprofitable product at a grossly exaggerated price and now there's a struggle to try and squeeze out profits by cutting down cost. Mass layoffs arent necessarily about individual performance , engineers typically are part of teams , which are part of orgs , and a lot of the time , a whole org or team is being deprecated. I see bootlickers online glorifying a bunch of these people losing their jobs or like its deserved cause they were banned from twitter a while back. you can tell a lot of people dont realize engineers at the company arent really moderating or participating in dumb political culture war. They build the app maintain the product, keep it reliable 24/7 and provide for their families so on that front its sad to see this takeover will spend the end of their jobs and thats a really serious thing. Its kinda crazy people I took cs classes and graduated , proud of their 4 years of hard-work getting into a company like twitter could have all that axed in the space of a couple days. Those are real lives being affected, a lot of whom have nothing to do with whatever political bullshit is going on. People should be conscious of that.

Elon didnt need to lay off 50% of engineers. They were truly world class engineers. I hope they get better jobs in better place.

It has already started off with bad move .

That just won't be Elon in upcoming years.

With tech advancements you will see firms laying off more and more employees and doing cost cutting

the price he bought twitter at was at least double the valuation and in large part why he wanted to pull out
he got conned into buying it after twitter execs threatened legal action.
it was already a bad move .

Elon didnt really wanted the deal tbh . Imo parag and dorsey made sure they get their payday before leaving twitter mess to him.

yeah they had shareholders that needed their money and parag did a great job making sure the deal went through. I think after he got fired, I saw people laughing which I found funny; Hes walking away with 60 million, liquid income. lots of people who are worth a billion without selling assets , might not even see that. Though, I dont think they were necessarily trying to mess with him .

Come on Senpai,

I thought you in favour of futurism, Electric Cars, Space exploration and all

Imagine if we could visit Mars:crazwhat:
There is nothing on Mars. Barren land

You know what would be better? Instead of investing billions to make an attempt to colonize Mars we should use this money to make Earth better lol
