The problem is apparently just the rent, but everything else is much cheaper for you. Here in Brazil we pay 10 times more for electronics than you do. Food there is about 10 times cheaper than here too as far as I know. In Brazil with 2 thousand a month you are obliged to live with your parents. Car too, poor and even middle class here pay 30k in an ugly and used car. Our minimum wage in reais is lower than yours in dollars.

Breh my rent in Croatia is 250 Euros and my paycheck isn 900-1000 euros

Eletricity, heating, internet and so on make it around 300-350 depending on season

And i still have more than enough to live on

Car too, poor and even middle class here pay 30k in an ugly and used car. Our minimum wage in reais is lower than yours in dollars.

The latter. Personally I don’t see the need unless you are willing to be smart with it and plan to start a business with it. Most basic needs can be comfortably met making less.

if you stay closer to sf or in the city itself it will be even higher than that for decent/nicer areas
but most folks get housemates/room-mates .

In my part of the US, full-time work for minimum wage gets you $1400 a month after taxes, and the average rent is $1300 to $1700 a month.

Aside from rent you have food, transportation, medical coverage and phone. In the US across the board, you need to make around $4000 a month after taxes to live comfortably.
