Marineford has a shitton of consistency and writing problems.

Yes, it's the climax of the first half of OP, but in terms of pure storywriting arcs like Water 7 or Sabaody are way better.
Marineford is supposed to be chaos. A lot of characters doind shit one after the other. A walkway of impressive double spreads. There's nothing wrong with its consistency. You can't show everything when you have 500 characters. Oda managed to do every chapter as fresh and awesome as he could. We got too a lot of goat moments back to back. Where's the problem

He didn't. It's 145 chapters and counting...
Sorry, if you don't realize how rushed this ending was, I don't know what to say.

It's not about the previous 145 chapters, it's about the totally anticlimatic way this final battle against Kaido ended (and in a lesser way the Law/Kidd, Zoro and Sanji fights).

It was like Oda slowly built up everything and then simply didn't care anymore and went speedrun mode to finish this arc.

The ending of the raid was so bad, that even most "raid will succeed" fans thought this just wasn't it and that there were a few more chapters of the grand finale coming up.

Instead Oda just makes a short time-jump, skips around 20 still open plot-points and now is about to start a totally new saga in 2 chapters after his hiatus.

I'm basing this on the fact that even people close to Oda may it be from Toei/shueisha or his editors ( dunno which one did) but when this entire 5 year thing came up the first time one of the guys took back his opinion and said "If the arc continues by the current pacing i do see Oda ending the series in 5 years" prior to stating that it would be impossible.
Lol and it still took 50 chapters for the arc to get to the end when this was said

No, I don't get the thought process that revising or restructuring the final arc means he's going to cut entire plotlines and islands from the series. That's not the conclusion I jump to.

It's far easier to believe that he will cut out half the useless characters he draws every arc to make arcs more compact, than to cut out the few actual islands we have left.

You guys jump to extremes. Literally last year one of his editors said that the series still has "20-30 volumes left"

Those dragged out second halfs of arcs are soo annoying. It.s that time where Oda kills all the hype for the plot points he established in the first half of the arc
That's the weird thing with talking about the arc being rushed. Like why the fuck did we get Kanjuro back after the fight with Kiku and all the wasted time on his final attack AFTER he already did that fake Oden bomb lol. We really didn't need him for the basic idea that the battlefield is on fire, especially when they top enemies actually have the power to burn things.

The problem is that a ton of writing just doesn't make sense in Marineford.

Just one example: Midway through the battle WB has a heart-attack in front of Akainu, the latter has the golden chance to finish him once and for all (and we know characterwise he would 100% do it). What happens? Akainu uses his free killshot to magma-punch WB in the stomach (lmao) and then walks away. WB is up and fine again the next chapter.

That's just some bs writing, no matter how you turn it and there are A LOT of such examples during Marineford.

Nope, I guess I don't.

Kaido's ending took 4 fucking chapters. Every other arc villain gets literal one chapter to finish their final clash. Nearly every other arc villain does not have a flashback to characterize them. Every other arc villain doesn't have a hidden past (Rocks) that will almost be guaranteed to be elaborated on later.

And like I said, the Final Arc starting in 1054 does not mean we are physically off Wano by the end of 1053 (in 16 pages). Actually wait for the arc to finish before making baseless conclusions like this about shit not being finished.
