No, Whitebeard would have eventually lost, because Roger was the Conqueror who stood above all other Conquerors. Whitebeard gets to keep his title because, spoiler alert, Roger died.... Whitebeard defaults to WSM, when the one who stood above him is no longer alive. Not really that hard of a concept to grasp.... Well, for you it is.

Nobody took Mihawk's WSS title, cause no one but Zoro gives a shit about it. But even after Whitebeard's death, not a single soul is looking at Mihawk as the new WSM, which would be the case if he was as strong as you wankers claim he is. But he isn't, and therefore remains the mere WSS, forever out of reach of the WSM title.
