What happens later? Zolo+Kaku pant with Zolo revealing he didn't know Shawk was Lunarian, Oda completely shit on that scene. 
While Teach uses 1 random darkness attack and Shawk runs away.
That first scene was due to Zolo being too dumb can't understand Shawk was Lunarian thats why he had false confidence later he pant with Kaku, while Teach was smart and just surprised to see Lunarian+PX combination immediately, and still blocks with 1 arm only and makes Shawk run away.
