Lol, so that tiny thing in the corner of the page was in fact Wanda??
The original point still stands. The very first moment with all the straw hats together since 2013 and Carrot is right in the middle of all of it, interacting in exactly the same fashion as if she was a member of the crew.
An outsider like Wanda is literally unnoticeable in the panel and has half her face cut off by the page. In the official English release they cut her off entirely and she isn't even shown at all.
This is still a straw hat reunion moment, which Carrot is in the middle of, with Wanda onlooking from the background.
Then in the next panels where oda gave us glimpse of all the strawhats, carrot suddenly off paneled.
If oda really wants to hint carrot being a member by drawung her with the SH. He could have drawn here tigether with usopp, chopper and nami hiding. Or at least a panel fighting because ofc shes in the ship when the SH breakthrough the gates but none.
To explain his inclusion, she was there because she knew jinbe from WCI
was literally the editor comment at the beginning of the chapter:
The moment wasn't just about Jinbe joining, but more so the fact that they were finally together after many, many years in our time. A long awaited moment. And a moment with Carrot in it...
I will say beforehand that I couldn't care less what the editors write at the start and end of the chapters.. But either way ,in most if not all cases (at least this editor) from what I have seen, they write something to do with said pages. In this chapter's first page an already member of the crew came back,so of course he would focus on that..I don't see any point .
That makes you wonder, why did Oda set up this relationship with Carrot and the crew? All the minks are friendly with the straw hats, but why give Carrot an entire extra arc+ of interaction with them. Not to mention, WCI is one of the longest arc in the entire series.
Whilst Carrot was useful and helpful in WCI, nothing she did was a must that only Carrot could do in terms of the story. Her most notable moments were her story with Pedro and Sulong. In both cases, Pekoms was right there on the island too in the same circumstances that could've handled that.
Pekoms could've shown off Sulong alone, Pekoms could've wept for Pedro alone on a personal level. Instead, Pedro left her with a message telling of the importance of the straw hat crew and Carrot got a massive arc full of interaction and bonding, which is paying off now with her acting like one of the actual straw hat crew members, compared to Wanda who is just watching from the sidelines
He got carrot involved because he couldn't do everything he wanted in the arc with just 2 minks. 2 of the 3 minks died and the SH barely got out alive from totoland (Well we aren't sure about pekoms but I doubt Linlin would forgive his betrayal+they were gauging his eyes out.) with huge help from other groups as well.
Carrot's involvement was also there to make Chopper shine as a leader .Thanks to his plan they captured Bruleé and got the crucial mirror world on their side..
Someone like Pedro's caliber would outstage chopper and lead him instead of leading and shining.
And the underlined is actually a big problem of Carrot . She got nothing for herself going..Sulong was just a preview of what minks can do before the war..If we go further than that She also got no meaningful interactions with Luffy on over 100 chapters right now.
What are their interactions ? Biting his ear on Zou,his neck on sunny and Luffy saying her name when Katakuri stepped over her ?

So Zoro who has the same facial expression as Wanda isn't acting as a Strawhat? No. Simply as said before Oda had each character act based on their characters.

As of now from my perspective Carrot joining would be straight up one of the worst things Oda ever written .
No meaningful interactions with Luffy ,Luffy not interested of her while also thinking the minks are bunch of choppers,not cream of the crop when it comes to her supposed job (lookout)if she joined the crew.
In fact she wouldn't even be the best when it comes to it,comparing her to the rest of the crew. Ussop is suppose to match Van Augur . The dude could see things beyond the horizon before TS ,Imagine now.Oda had made a perfect df for lookout and gave it to a passer-by character..
No mentioned dream..
The only good things going for her is that she isn't afraid to fight(but this is expected from a warrior race...),along with being adventurous(which isn't much really).
No character on Wano as of now fits the criteria personally.
Except of Kaidou's son ,who will join the crew asap after killing his drunkard of a father.
Carrot in the arc she was introduced in barely said 2-3 sentences, had zero focus on her, and Luffys reaction to seeing her (and Wanda) was "A dog!?" And shes still lacking a important dream. Oda can change things in the future but so far, shes not a Strawhat caliber character.
I feel like Kinemon would fit, but Oda introduced his wife which basically killed his chances. Law has his own crew and Momo is just a kid. The rest arent even close from what we saw so far

My point was that the long awaited reunion of all the straw hats was mentioned, lol. Not just that "Jinbe is back". Hence, that moment being a "straw hat" moment, and not simply a celebration for Jinbe.

-She has a history with one of the strongest enemies in the war outside of the supernovas and commanders, likely getting a battle against Perospero.
-She has very close relations and bonds to many members of the crew, not only one
-She loves adventure
It doesn't take a genius to see how a decent dream could arise out of her love for adventure, love for the straw hat crew combined with the final words of her mentor talking of their importance and the dawn.
Wano arc is gonna be ginormous. We're 70 chapters in and the battle hasn't even started yet. Highly possible that this isn't even the final battle of the arc. There's plenty of time for Carrot and Luffy to have a deeper interaction, especially as Carrot needs to at some point fully understand the role of the straw hats and Luffy like Pedro said she would.
The difference between Carrot and all the other characters is that Carrot clearly has the potential to become a straw hat. There are some things she is lacking, but she isn't like literally every single other "candidate" in having something that totally shuts down their chances of joining. Every single one of the Wano characters is clearly bound to Wano and it would require some wild logic to justify any of them ditching Wano to join the crew. Carrot already has multiple of the qualities down, so her progress into a straw hat is already well underway. Now we just wait for the rest of it to inevitably come.

Moria's not going to join Blackbeard, the guy just killed one of his crewmates. For all Moria's faults, he cares a hell of a lot about his crew.
We might be looking too much into the Blackbeard Pirates 11 vs 11 matchup. For all we know Luffy will Blueno one, or Sabo will finish off Burgess permanently, or Kuzan will kill one off. Not knowing who the Tenth Commander is really makes it difficult to speculate too much on what it could mean for the Strawhats.
