She doesn't standout as she's not exceptional, unique, remarkable, extraordinary or special at it. A fan made collection of the time she spent at the crows nest when the Strawhats were split and short on men(making herself useful) is not a mean of differentiating herself from other lookouts. Carrot could be hinting at herself like she also could not, and again since she's not in any type of way exceptional at what she did, she's foreshadowing someone else just like Vivi or Pedro.
She´s good at jumping a few meters, don´t forget that

Yes,Carrot will join the crew. Along with Wanda because she is also in the panel...
Lol, so that tiny thing in the corner of the page was in fact Wanda??

The original point still stands. The very first moment with all the straw hats together since 2013 and Carrot is right in the middle of all of it, interacting in exactly the same fashion as if she was a member of the crew.

An outsider like Wanda is literally unnoticeable in the panel and has half her face cut off by the page. In the official English release they cut her off entirely and she isn't even shown at all.

This is still a straw hat reunion moment, which Carrot is in the middle of, with Wanda onlooking from the background.

Yep,people care too much about that.
Oda didn't even care to show the reaction of the crew when they reunited with Sanji.

And that goes to show that Oda drew the panel based on the personality of the characters. Wanda wouldn't intefere in an intimate moment between the crew.
Carrot on the other would, because she knew Jinbe and had the WCI history with him ,plus this is her attitude in general .Her still being a teen may also play a role,in how she would react in certain things.

That makes the fact that he chose to show the reaction to this moment all the more significant.

This was literally the editor comment at the beginning of the chapter:

The moment wasn't just about Jinbe joining, but more so the fact that they were finally together after many, many years in our time. A long awaited moment. And a moment with Carrot in it...

That makes you wonder, why did Oda set up this relationship with Carrot and the crew? All the minks are friendly with the straw hats, but why give Carrot an entire extra arc+ of interaction with them. Not to mention, WCI is one of the longest arc in the entire series.

Whilst Carrot was useful and helpful in WCI, nothing she did was a must that only Carrot could do in terms of the story. Her most notable moments were her story with Pedro and Sulong. In both cases, Pekoms was right there on the island too in the same circumstances that could've handled that.

Pekoms could've shown off Sulong alone, Pekoms could've wept for Pedro alone on a personal level. Instead, Pedro left her with a message telling of the importance of the straw hat crew and Carrot got a massive arc full of interaction and bonding, which is paying off now with her acting like one of the actual straw hat crew members, compared to Wanda who is just watching from the sidelines.

It's fascinating...Carrot is the only candidate I can think of where people need to make up ridiculous headcanon in order to explain away how her joining the crew wouldn't be a natural consequence of events.

Momonosuke - As a defenceless 8 year old who is supposed to be the shogun of Wano, will abandon his country after having finally reclaimed it, in order to pursue a life of piracy in the New World with the straw hats

Kin emon - The main retainer for lord Momonosuke, having finally reclaimed his country, having witnessed firsthand the dangers of abandonment of a country, will himself abandon Wano and his vulnerable child lord in order to pursue a life of piracy with the straw hats

Otama - A defenceless 8 year old girl will be accepted by Luffy into his crew and will be well prepared to fight a Blackbeard Pirate in the near future

Komurasaki - A defenceless princess of Wano, having finally come out of hiding, reclaimed her country and reunited with her brother and retainers after 20 years will join a pirate crew!!!

Carrot - An incredibly adventure hungry battle natural that has journeyed and bonded with the straw hats to the point she is considered like family, has previously cast aside her priorities for adventure, had a "taste" of what the real world and adventure are like, had a mentor that died telling her of the importance of the straw hats, is familiar with the ship and has unofficially adopted a position onboard is just going to return to her elephant back and live as a regular mink.

:suresure::suresure:

Carrot's the only candidate people make up wacky ideas such as hunting down ponegliffs which she has shown literally zero interest in, or becoming a fleet commander, despite the fact that Carrot is a follower and not a leader. She was even following after fucking Chopper in WCI xD, and even recently Siciliian declared himself the leader of the minks in the dukes stead.

The most logical line would simply be that she joins the straw hats considering her entire character story. Everything else seems heavily influenced by bias and people who simply don't want her to join under any circumstances.

Giving what I've presented, can someone present a single alternative that given Carrot's character role, her lust for adventure, her bond with the straw hats, her fighting skills, her mentor's dying words...a single alternative that makes more sense than her... simply joining the crew...

Nah, Viz actually had the proper scan of the manga so it wasn't cut off. The early bootleg shit we get was missing a centimeter or 2 of the pages.
Even Viz cut off Wanda.

That's why the Spanish translation was posted. In the official English scans this is the panel:

The same applies on mangaplus English. Wanda is cut off. It's only in the Spanish version do they show more.

And as mentioned previously, it literally doesn't change the point at all. She's still utterly insignificant in the panel, so much so that she's physically not even on the panel in our official release.

Don't worry I agree. Carrot is entirely central to this panel, unlike Wanda.

Anyway, regardless of how this last chapter played out, I don't expect carrot to be a focus right now anyway. Jinbe JUST came back. If there is an intention to make her important during the arc, it will happen when or if she encounters Perospero about Pedro at Onigashima or the War.

Has she bonded with Luffy, or has she bonded with Chopper and Nami? Even Pekoms got more screen time with Luffy than her. Every new potential crewmember, you have to look at them through Luffys eyes

I agree, Momo, Tama, and Kine must stay in Wano.

Dying in Wano so she can reunite with her mentor would be a good alternative. :suresure:

I will make it easy for you, the point is that there is no point. Wanda being in the panel instantly negates any desperate Carrot fanboy speudo symbolic interpretation of that scene.
