Reborn

Throughout Heaven & Earth,I alone am d Honored One
I honestly think that the huge mess that was Wano battle is only a prologue to what kind of mess the final battle of the manga will be.
My biggest concern is not the fights. We all know most of the time oda doesn't deliver when it comes to fights.

There is another bigger concern - wano, WCi and Egghead - all these arcs ended with no plot resolution for readers.

Oda keep on saying we are nearing end game yet we keep on getting unfinished business related to these arcs.

With all those buildup in the first halfeof the arc, and in the end we are still left with unsolved puzzles - readers are left with lack of contentment or fulfilment.

Which makes me believe, oda is so immersed in writing the story as he desires that he no longer keep readers perspective in mind - the audience.

It's like I am directing a movie but I don't care about the audience at all

It's why I actually didn't like Marineford, despite so many fans praising it.

To me it was very unorganic.
Finally, readers are realizing that Marineford is when the things started to go wrong in One Piece.

While everybody loved Marineford, I did not. I don't hate it as much as post TS arcs, but MF was something that gave confidence to Oda. Confidence that he can hold back his characters, not make them go all out, offscreen fights, cut off fights for some stupid reasons (Mihawk vs Vista, Garp vs Akainu, making WB sick to the point he could not even fight). And so on.

Back when I was crazy for One Piece and watching Drizzit livestream.
I said Oda has made One Piece like an ever growing tree, there are countless branches and leaves, but fruits are not in equal propotion.
OP has become like a weed in wild, that keeps on growing, while it has some benefits, but it is not as good as a mango tree which gives sweet and delicious fruits once a year.

I don't want to get into this again (One Piece rants). I have been reading OP since 2012 or 2014, dont remember exactly.
I think now I have right to say what I feel about the One Piece story as a whole.

Let me give my thoughts on this situation. I think Vegapunk didnt wanted to show WG in a bad light for a reason we saw in this chapter. Like we see Vegapunk immediately jumped the gun after he heard there is a traitor and said it was Lilith. But he learned it wasnt Lilith but it was York.
So him knowing jumping the gun is bad he tried to objective as he can while delivering his speech. He wasnt even sure it was WG did this attack to Lulusia. Thats why he only spoke the things he was sure.

For the other stuff for Vegapunk York living or dying didnt matter that much for him. York is a pawn in WGs hand. The one mattered to him was teaching people what happened in the Void Century. The Void Century that Clover and others died for. He knew that if he were to run they would get hunted like the escape ship they sent after they learned York. So they decided to fight against the WG. And Vegapunk knew his death will make people believe him and would make his words more powerful. Thats why he asked sanji to let him die in the first place. For motherflame i dont think Vegapunk would destroy his greatest creation. It would have sent the world so back and make his dream unattainable.
This is my take about the Vegapunk.

Thank god I though I was the only one. This is my main problem with postTS OP. Oda takes years to write an arc and explain conflicts just to do nothing with them. The battles were never that important because it was never the main resolution.

_"Racism is an intergenerational concept"
-"Families are complicated and mafias emerge when people is unable to protect themselves"
-"Tyranny is crazy bad and government corruption is terrible"
Well, how do we solve this issues, whats the answer? You guessed it "A BIGGER PUNCH AND A PARTY LMAO"
:okay:

Vegapunk knew his death will make people believe him
Why? To me this makes no sense.

The WG could simply write him off as him gone insane if he was still alive. That he was willing to die to defy the Wg adds some weight to what he said.

They can do that now as well.
"VP was senile and said some stupid things before having a stroke, please understand. He died peacefully surrounded by friends and family, he has our eternal gratitude for his contributions to the wg"

Easy breezy.

Potentially, they could, but the likelihood of anyone believing it is slim.

The cracks in their hegemony is finally starting to form.

I fear that, too.

It's why I actually didn't like Marineford, despite so many fans praising it.

To me it was very unorganic.

A boatload of characters that were there barely did anything the entire war, simply because Oda has always been bad handling this many characters at once.

Same thing with the current Egghead situation: Once he brought in Kuma and the other Gorosei he reached his breaking point and the entire ending became a mess, because he had too many characters to handle.
This is a really interesting take actually. I remember loving Marineford initially, maybe because I was coming off the high of Impel Down. I'll have to do a re-read of MF and see how I feel about it now.

Bege is another one of these characters who are supposed to be smart but fail utterly to be so.
For some reason I read “Gege is another one of those mangaka who are supposed to be smart but fail utterly to be so”.

Unless you have done P.hd in story telling or have studied story telling for years as freelance, you have no right to criticize one piece or question Oda.

:luuh:
That makes no sense at all. Didn’t you do book reports in elementary school where you summarized and critiqued a novel? Criticizing writing is the right of the reader.

But the World Government could simply state that the Straw Hats coerced Vegapunk to say such things. Hell aren't there already people in the verse blaming them for his death? At least if he was alive he could of actively fought against the World Government's propaganda.

But then, they can just slander him by saying he went mad.

Honestly, I think we all might be thinking too hard on this.

One Piece ending will be a fucking mess

isn't it?
I think Laughtale or Lodestar will be a big mess like Marineford, just a bunch of factions and Luffy running around trying to reach an endgoal or a mcguffin and not being able to go all out because there's too many weak underlings from every faction around, and a lot of fights may get offscreened too. Basically:
While everybody loved Marineford, I did not. I don't hate it as much as post TS arcs, but MF was something that gave confidence to Oda. Oda skipping fights has only gotten worse since WCI's tamatebako incident and especially in Wano when he just offscreened Law vs Hawkins.

Bege is a genius compared to Vegapunk

Heck, Bege was the only one who actually tried telling everyone that not poisoning Big Mom's cake and feeding her when she was already dying of hunger while having them completely surrounded was a stupid idea. He might as well have slipped the poison bomb in himself when Sanji wasn’t looking.

By the end of WCI, Bege was likely one of the few characters left with any functioning brain cells, which isn’t surprising given he’s one of the few pirate dads who isn’t a deadbeat.
