Zoro is the most easily likable character in One Piece
Let me give you my reasoning for that, unlike every strawhats who is indebted to Luffy in one way or another, Zoro and Luffy joined on a "You scratch my back and I scratch yours" type of deal.
Luffy gave Zoro an ultimatum, he will give Zoro his swords only under one condition that he joins Luffy's crew and Luffy at the time needed first crew mate to kick start his journey and Zoro had to live for his ambition and for Kuina so he joined.
Beyond that Zoro owes Luffy nothing yet he has sacrificed the most for Luffy. He was willing to give away his life for Luffy in Thriller Bark, he was willing to give away his ambition for Luffy, Luffy who Zoro owns nothing to in reality. That was one of the most pure moments of nobility we have ever seen, and it also ended up becoming contender for greatest moment in One Piece history. Tekking did a poll with about 3000 people and by far that moment was voted number 1.
Thing is after that moment Luffy is genuinely indebted to Zoro which is opposite of any other straw hats, but Zoro's nobility extended to the point where he didn't even allow Luffy to know what he did.
Beyond that I appreciate Zoro's moral compass, he would always do the right thing in the most natural way possible. When Chopper was crying, bitching and moaning and no one knew what to say, Zoro in the most natural way calmed him down by making him realize the situation.
He also did the right thing in Enies Lobby in Usopp situation when all stayed quiet.
On top of that, while Sanji has his conflicting generosity, and Luffy would only really help his friends, he prolly doesn't even know what generosity is, Zoro is genuinely generous. We were shown him starving for a little girl he hardly knew anything about.
On top of it, obviously his fights are amazing, best fights out of anybody, he is embodiment of an alpha male but still not the typical bad ass.
Among all character, including Luffy, he is easiest t like.

Imagine if the fight starts with Kaido easily deflecting Zoro's attack by saying "Weak, very weak" and ends with Zoro cutting down Kaido to oblivion.

He's fought like 3 Supernovas, a fox monk, Kinemon's blue haired fanboy, a bunch of gifter fodders and will finally eventually Kaido himself in one single arc.
All the while maintaining the highest screentime before Luffy. Not to mention the fact that we're getting more Zoro lore with that SBS hint.
