It's not. Oda's timelines are not the slightest bit credible.
There are at least 3 major fighting arcs left:
  • Elbaf
  • Raftel
  • The Final War

And there are potential minor fighting arcs left:
  • Lodestar
  • Vegapunk

Oda choose to reinforce Zoro vs Mihawk after Zoro defeated King. If Oda did not still plan for Zoro to fight Mihawk, he wouldn't have done that.
Your statement is based on nothing. But we have many statements from Oda and his crew that point towards One Piece ending within 5 years.

Percentage Statements:
- Oda's editor Sugita said timeskip was half the series = 50%
http://www.onepiecepodcast.com/2015...nterview-with-one-piece-editor-suguru-sugita/

- End of Punk Hazard, Oda estimates the series is 60% done
https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/One_Piece_Newspaper

- At the beginning of WCI, Oda estimates the series is 70% done
http://www.onepiecepodcast.com/2016/07/23/one-piece-actually-70-story-probably/

- At the beginning of Wano, Oda estimates the series is 80% done
https://www.opfanpage.com/2018/07/22/oda-revealed-one-piece-story-is-80-finished/

So you can see the percentage estimates are surprisingly consistent and not just some nonsense. When One Piece was 80% (beginning of Wano), you could roughly calculate that about 7 years are left of the manga. So, there should be roughly 4 years left after Wano.

Direct Statements:
Oda first said he wants to finish the story in 5 years in a TV interview =>
https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ne...ro-oda-i-want-to-end-story-in-5-years/.150684

His editor Naito reaffirms that Oda wants to finish the story in 5 years =>
https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/ne...ates-on-plans-to-end-manga-in-5-years/.153283

Later, in a TV interview, Oda (again) said he will finish OP in 4-5 years =>

He also reaffirmed the estimate in SBS 97. So far Oda said the ~5 year estimate four times or more. There is no mistake that he genuinely wants to finish the story within 5 years. Will he be able to do it? Idk, but one thing is sure he is not stretching it to 8-10 years.

Final Arc Statement:
In Oda's message after chapter 1000: "Luffy's adventure is near the final arc"

In SBS 97: "Right now Luffy is in Wano. But if Luffy manages to survive and sail away, I will draw major international developments and the biggest battle in One Piece history"

That clearly shows we are getting only one big arc after Wano. There is probably room for a small arc which can be squeezed between Wano and the final arc, but there wont be two major arcs after Wano.

Oda's health:
Oda's health is another big factor. He was hospitalized a few years back if I remember correctly. Writing a manga over 20+ years takes its toll on the body. At Jump festa 2022 message, he talked about his stiff shoulders and back pain.

TL,DR:
- Oda has been pretty consistent with his estimates
- He genuinely wants to finish it within 4-5 years, its not a joke
- There will be only one major arc after Wano

Even if you disagree, lets assume for the time being that One Piece has 4-5 years left. How come Zoro gets two major 1on1 fights in that case? Before King, Zoro's last major 1on1 against Pica was 6 years back. Remember that a good amount of remaining chapters will be spent on One Piece lores, not in actual fights.

People are still going on about Shiryu after Diamond Shiryu was confirmed dead in the water? Lmao. Oda is not going to have some third rate testicle chin douchebag invalidate the 20 year promise between Zoro and Mihawk. Imagine trying to market the final battle and trying to convince fans to tune in for Shiryu. What a joke lol.

Zoro vs Mihawk round 1 was a proper 1v1 with Luffy spectating as Zoro fought for his dream. Zoro vs his endgame opponent will not be, as some claim, in service to Luffy’s dream, it will be a proper duel under the heavens, so when he succeeds, his name will be so great that even heaven will hear of him. Not some kind of scuffle in a chaotic war zone after which Luffy will take all the credit, wtf is this lol?

I hardly doubt Mihawk vs Zoro will be his last fight

Mihawk isn't the strongest guy in the universe, Zoro can still fight an equally strong or stronger opponent after that with similar difficulty

Mihawk himself considers trying to be the PK something harder than trying to be the WSS

It's really depending on how Oda will set up the arcs. Since Zoro is probably out of commission for the next arc (let's say Elbaf where the Strawhats are gonna fight Shanks' crew) then Zoro wouldn't fight Mihawk there. If the following arc is Lodestar or Raftel then Zoro and the Strawhats will fight the Blackbeard Pirates so Mihawk probably won't be there either. Then you got the Final War against the Marines and World Government where Zoro will fight an Admiral and Gandhi Gorosei. After that, Mihawk is the only one left for Zoro to fight.

So what the SH deafeat BB Pirates and the WG, they party and them leave to meet Mihawk in a island for Zoro to fight him in the most random way possible? While everyone watch and eat popcorn.

Mihawk most likely will be Zoro next opponent, after the CoC awakening he and Enma, the only other powerup left for Zoro is to make a Black Blade, that will happen in the fight against Mihawk, with something like Zoro finally making the sword Black and being able to break Yoru or something like that.

The final opponet of Zoro will be whoever is the right hand of Imu, most likely the most senior of the Gorosei, and in the sams way Luffy will go to the final war as the PK, Zoro will go as the WSS.

Think the problem is that some people think WSS is some fixed title, is just a way people call Mihawk as he seems to be super famous for being a good swordsman and very strong, probably the one of the strongest pirate besides the Emperos and Luffy, but the WSS isnt a tittle given to him by the WG or someone else, is pretty much like WSC and WSM that Kaido and WB were said to be, kind like a legend about the character. This misconception about WSS make some readers think Mihawk is the a character in the verse, while Mihawk himself clearly says there's a distance between he and someone like WB

@Cinera Mihawk is not Zoro's EoS opponent.
Beside the Zoro vs Mihawk doesn't really fit naratively as Garp the Fist said.
Then there is also this scenario where Zoro can already become WSS before the last arc. Not every Straw Hats will complete their dream in the last arc, i.e. I think Sanji will find All Blue before they reach Raftel.

Post Mihawk fight Zoro will be WSS already, and rather than Shiryu killing Mihawk scenario, maybe Shiryu will hunt Zoro instead because Zoro already the one holding the title.

Story wise, it is not bad too imo.
Do you want to pick the path where Zoro faces Mihawk in EoS battle, beats him, get title then story is finished.
Or do you prefer the path where Oda portrays Zoro as the reigning, defending, undisputed World Strongest Swordsman?

Zoro vs Mihawk lost all allure as Zoro's final fight when Mihawk trained him.

That being said, Zoro and Mihawk can still happen, but he won't be Zoro's final fight. Zoro can become the World's Strongest Swordsman prior to the Final War, and still fight a Sword user as his final antagonist, who isn't a traditional Swordsman, that is stronger than Mihawk. No rule against that, and Zoro has been fighting those kind of opponents throughout the entire series.

Remember folks, Oda has established that not everyone who fights with a Sword is a Swordsman. So yall need to get the thought out of your head that Mihawk is stronger than everyone who carries a sword, and therefore needs to be Zoro's final opponent.
Oda established that Mihawk as the WSS> Shanks/Fuji/(Oden/Roger).:hohoho:

Characters like Big Mom being under Mihawk is a direct consequence of Mihawk's superiority over the top tiers (who happen to be swordsmen) mentioned above, not because of the WSS title.:jordanmf:

If anything, Oda is establishing that Zoro can destroy those "sword users" you keep talking about, that much was clear in his fight against King. :saden:

This.

Mihawk really works conveniently for Zoro's epilogue fight. :myman:

Milhawk is not last zoro fight because zoro will defeat milhawk before final war.

Kizaru is pretty much zoro true final boss.
Or of sword gorsei guy which it doesn’t make sense for him to be secret stronger sword am than milhawk and he is not even in prime life.
Zoro will have the honor to fight someone like Papalino all on himself...

This man grew so badly... I bet he will be likely stronger than Kaido during that fight
