if you are making an argument of who is stronger between S vs Z, and you dont get a fight in your own arc it's definitely an L. From soley a combative standpoint

Common sense. Sanji is already a great cook and he's strong however, let's not forget he's also a strategist and good at stealth too.
Him being as strong as Luffy or even Zoro is completely nonsensical since they are both specialised in combat while Sanji is versatile. That's how Oda keeps them balanced. Zoro and Luffy as combatants are stronger but Sanji offers more to the crew other than combat. If he was as strong as Zoro or Luffy, he instantly becomes the most valuable crewmember and that is something that would never be the case

If yamato is stronger than king, I would say kaidos son vs wbs son.
If yamato is a weak character, big mom has to be stopped, I believe marco will be one of those, who will stop big mom.
But if yamato is weak and big mom has amnesia or some other stupid shit and as such does not assist kaido, marco will fight king.

That being said, it is very impressive that Sanji hasn't been completely left in the dust. The fact that he remains one of the crews main fighters while having other roles (like cook) just goes to show how important he is to the crew.
I honestly think the whole talk about Ls is annoying. It is based entirely on characters not matching up to preconceived notions about them. Sanji honestly had some pretty good feats in WCI.

Sanji's feats in WCI ain't that bad LOL
Dodge Kata's sneak attack, speed blitz and broke Oven's neck who is the most durable Charlotte. He also tanked the special bullets that supposedly to pierce through Vinsmoke's RS lol

Which is why I still think he should've got a fully fleshed out 1v1.

The arc was about him. At that point in the story, he was the 3rd strongest Strawhat (now 4th due to Jinbe joining). He got good feats yeah but he deserved a fully fleshed fight. Which he didn't get.
Lol even if Oda let Sanji have a proper 1v1 against Oven or Daifuku it wouldve been a W
