What's hard to get? I am personally extremely unimpressed with how Dragon has been overshadowed by Sabo, has his base destroyed and didn't even go to the Reverie. I do not feel that any other top tier aside from Big Mom has been so ineffectual a character.
Yes, and I'm saying that the greatest foe the world government has getting got with his pants down and that ending with him having to flee his base does not impress me very much. His main base being destroyed because his organisation were too incompetent to realise that a half-dead Burgess had stowed away on one of their ships and snuck in is not a good look. Neither is him being completely unaware of what happened at Reverie. This does not make him come across as a particularly competent leader or character as we do not have many examples of him having any personal success.
Well, I've actually said I don't think that Sengoku was a brilliant Fleet Admiral in the past, so okay?
But the difference is that Sengoku is not the supreme leader of his organisation the way that Dragon is his. Sengoku has to answer to Kong, who answers to the Gorosei, who answers to Im. Dragon answers to no one but himself.
Plus, the Marines won at Marineford. Their goal at the start was to kill Ace, Ace still ended up dead, and so did Whitebeard. We don't know what exactly happened at the Reverie, but it does not look like Dragon gathering his leaders and declaring war has been a massive success, does it?
I'm well aware that Sabo isn't dead, I don't even think that's what the newspaper is reporting. But the problem is that Dragon does not have a fucking clue what the truth is. He for some reason let his main men go charging into the heart of enemy territory without going with them, and as such is totally unaware of what has happened there.
Again, not a great look.
It actually is a big deal because it showed that Zoro was still miles away from achieving his dream.
