Yes, but life isn't fair. Rejecting people that are risking their life on the basis that "life must be fair", isn't really logical or human. Even in regards to those are trying to enter legally.

I remember trying the process to have the Green Card, it didn't work out but even if I tried hard, the fact that people are simply arriving on the territory in order to survive didn't give me the impression that I was being cheated on.

Accepting those people is not a debate, its just the human thing to do. In the US or in Europe. Same thing.

I remember a study showing that you won't find more insecurity among migrants than in the regular population. In fact the more a person is integrated in society the most likely they will be to commit crimes.

And its logical. Why would a person who risked their life to enter the country, would risk everything for a pity crime ?

Scientists still don't really understand shit about the "universe and life."

Scientists understand how things work better than anyone else, for sure. After all, the scientific method is about things that can be observed and replicated. However, there is a clear limit to where it goes. It's not relativism. I will word it better for you
Science, despite all it can do, cannot really offer the kind of answers people seek when they are looking for God or a simulation theory. When it comes to the subject of "understanding the universe and life," modern science can at best offer meek "hows," but never "whys." Why the universe exists, why humans exist. Regarding medicine and the economy, you're right, but those are different areas of knowledge with a much smaller scope.

You’ve got somewhat of a point. However, esoteric concepts such as “gods” are simply created from a human POV. They’re completely foreign to provable and measurable phenomena. Therefore science simply seeks to take human bias out of the equation, cause gods simply are a more fantastical, and honestly, made up way to explain reality with no basis to stand on.

I might be dumb but isn't the why more important especially with a criminal, especially in murder. Usually the how is easy to find out. Or do you mean, like how did a person become able to kill someone. I still think why is more important because for some reason motive is very important in murder cases.

I also think that is already done. Defense lawyers usually need to answer the how (if you meant how they came to commit the crime, most important in the sentencing phase.) while Prosecution needs the why and evidence to prove they committed it.

"How?" on the other hand would make us understand the construction behind his reasonning but more, it would make us understand the sociology of someone who can commit such an act and extend the reasonning to other potential shooters but more, its might make us understand also the construction and the reasons behind the radicalization of people in society but more, it might make us understand how the failure and the problems with politics in the country or more, in the world.

For me, searching for meaning is meaningless. I'm the one who put meaning into my life, not the opposite.

What is more interesting on the other hand, would be to understand how the universe and the potential powers of a god work.

I don't like the word religious, because I don't practice an organized religion, but I am a believer who does believe God is a higher power. That we will not agree on.

People often ask these questions and even done studies on brains. They have found serial killer brains work differently than a typical brain. They have found what they found in serial killer brains, in the standard population, who aren't criminals, which led them back to discussions of nurture vs nature. I'm obsessed with the subject of why do people do what they do, including every day not criminal people as well, but I don't believe there will ever be a solid conclusion.

First off, Rachel Maddow has the personality of a wet towel, don't know anyone that likes her. Second, it's kind of a stretch to say she's implying you're alt right if you like LOTR. At best I'll grant you that she's generalizing and reaching with her arguments.

This is very low hanging fruit. I hate channels that engage in anti-woke drama farming. It's lazy content at best and most of their arguments are just bad faith bait. They don't seek to actually inform you, they seek to make people angry and paint a narrative that's inflammatory and divisive.
