Chapter 1111 or 1112 will reveal the 11th strawhat, and for the first time, in a way Luffy will ask that person to join and won’t take no as an answer. Like command someone to join under his protection, and that’s our 12 year old Bonney.
Nah I have a feeling chapter 1111 is going to be something related to Zoro, because Oda associates numbers 1111 with him (his birthday and something else I forgot. probably a wordplay). Maybe he'll finally defeat Lucci or something (so Lucci could finally become a nakama )
@Warback I would argue that the pacifistas are not nearly enough to protect Bonney now. Killing her is going to be the world government's top priority. It's going to be admirals going after her, not fodder for the pacifistas. She needs the revos or the Strawhats, and between the two, she would obviously choose the strawhats. I'm still not convinced she'll join as a member, but I think she'll at least be a long term companion like Vivi or Law.
I don't think it's that obvious of a choice, considering that the Revs are her father's family, hell, even her mother's!
On the one hand, you have Nika, whom she's been waiting on her entire life. But Nika has his own adventure to go on, his personal dream to accomplish.
On the other, you have Bonney's opportunity of being Nika for a bunch of countries/people while the actual Nika finishes his journey and joins her, the rest of the Revs, and all the henchmen needed to topple down the WG.

I have the same feeling. Chapter 1111 will have the future 11th SHP doing something amazing. But I don't think that Luffy will ask that person this early to join.
No. Unless you manage to make the paw paw fruit duplicate the character, there is always a split moment where the Sunny will be vulnerable and if its the purpose of the Sunny to be protected and attacked, then the ennemies will always find a way to attack if there is no one there.
Again, a guardian must be a REAL guardian, not a grasshoper.
Didn't the Ship Guards Meowban Brothers leave their ship to fight Zoro? The fact Ship Guards in One Piece left a docked ship negates your argument.
A REAL guardian? Where is this definition in One Piece or a dictionary? I have not found a definition of Ship Guard that confines the role strictly to the ship 24/7.
And ?
It would only means that the next Paw paw fruit user might have a potential will to help the strawhats, that's all, it will not completely override the characterization of the character, that would go against core thematic of One Piece once again. Characters don't simply change because they eat the devil fruit, the transferance of the "will" is metaphorical not physical. People finds fruit because either its their destiny to find it or the fruit and existence itself make them find them.
The fruits are not living beings - at least not in our knowledge - they do not override the personnalities of the characters. They have histories and particularities (like LUffy smiling being of his fruit in G5) but that's all.
The character who inherits the Paw Fruit with Kuma's Will will keep their personality. I didn't say override their personality. Ace's Will didn't take over Sabo personality. They both share experiences with young Luffy and their own broship. The inheritor will have a similar trait of protecting the Strawhats to Kuma.
In other words, for a character to want to protect the Sunny at all cost, said character would need to have a DEEP PERSONNAL REASON to :
- Help the strawhats
- Specifically protect the Sunny
And to create that, you can simply make the character follow the strawhats because the character like them.. Its would be completely irrelevant, not consistant with the writing of the strawhat so far and not powerful at all.
The character would need a strong link not only to the strawhats, but to the ship itself. And a REAL characterization SPIRILING around the thematic of protection and its flaws.
Indeed. That's why I not only use the term "Sentry" for Carrot as it is more fitting for her role, just like "marksman or Sniper" is more fitting for Usopp than Gunner.
A post doesn't need to be mentionned early in the story to be accessible. It only needs to be relevant in term of storytelling when said post is put into action and a character is showing the characteristic and thematic that can be linked with said post.
So if the character who inherits the Paw Fruit has a deep personal relationship with the Strawhats and has a reason to protect Sunny then they fit the bill of the Strawhat's Ship Guard.
Who else is a "Sentry" besides Carrot? What glues did Oda put in One Piece that will introduce Sentry to the audience?
The position is suitable for the crew but looking at the definition of Sentry it is similar to a Ship Guard.
1. A guard, especially a soldier posted at a given spot to prevent the passage of unauthorized persons.
2. The duty of a sentry; watch.
3. A soldier placed on guard; a sentinel.
Similar: sentinel
4. Guard; watch, as by a sentinel.
Similar: guard
A Sentry is a guard so a sentry on a ship is literally a guard on a ship which is a Ship Guard.

You may not be aware that you are talking to a person that spent multiple years of his life and thousands of posts under the nickname Carrot 4 Nakama to say that Carrot was joining 100% after Wano.
He wrote blogs about it, millions of words spent to satisfy his deranged fantasies, all the while describing himself as an "expert in story telling" and calling everybody ignorant, pigeons or too stupid to understand him.
And when called out he started calling everyone sexist and misogynist creating this new LGBT persona, reason that got him banned multiple times from multiple thread as he was reporting everyone calling him out.
You are wasting time.
We in the arc where sentient a.i, giant robot and advanced technology exist, there must be some new thing/skill/tech that sh would get from this island, why we need some standby crew to guard sunny if they can make sunny a giant transforming robot that can protect itself? Remember this is foreshadowed along time ago, ship with soul, transforming multi part robot, sunny bounty poster, sentai reference.Oda wouldnt skip this another merchandising opportunity.

If her only goal is to find her father, why would she choose to be a pirate? I mean, she can achieve her goal more easily if she joined the revo in the first place. I still think she want to explore the world hence she chose to be a pirate. If she will be given a chance to choose where she would join after this, she’ll definitely choose to be a strawhat.
i think usopp will get the pawfruit, but sentomaru would fit aswell. due to the number thing, the fruit ought to go to a strawhat. his role would be guardian of the ship.
hancock left amazon lily and is on her way to find luffy.
The only real and obvious candidate for me during all these years, and not another weekly one. When Carrot and Yamato fans were fighting with each other, I told them that it was obvious that none of them would become the final member of the crew. No one was listening to us. Well, let's see) I'm almost 100% sure that the final nakama is either a Smoker or no one. Anyway, I don't fight with anyone because of this, because you can't be sure what another person will create in the future (Oda), so if I'm wrong, at least I won't be ashamed.
Its quite clear that Smokers ceiling is too low to ever become an Admiral. A position he wanted to get to in order to change things from within. He himself must have realized that hed never become an admiral, even after all his training,
he still lost to Vergo and Law.
Then he met Aokiji, an idol, who himself couldn't change things from within even though he was an Admiral an almost Fleet Admiral (where he wouldn't have been able to change things either as Akainus is experiencing). Aokiji left planting a seed "sometimes you can achieve more from the outside" and soon enough it was revealed he was a pirate. Perhaps Smoker goes the same way.

Sentomaru is a ridiculous option. Tbh it doesn't look like Kuma is dying anyway. Hancock is in a weird spot. I can't see any path for her in universe that doesn't end up with her as a strawhat. It's all set up perfectly. But as reasers, we know that all the strawhats fit a bunch of criteria and she fits none of them. I don't know what to think about her, but I doubt she's joining.
Bonneys joining lmao, failed to keep promise with Vegapunk and then he asks them to look after her... Normally I'm not one to fall for the arc princess hype, but tbqh Bonney feels different.
So she's probably the Cabin Girl and Kumas the Ship Guarddog. Technically not full on joiners because Bonney is a child, and Kuma probably wont regain full sentience until EOS.
vegapunk isn't the only scientist in OP. there still lindbergh, judge, caesar clown even queen. if oda decide to keep him alive to reunite with bonney, those guys will doing it but restore him gonna take a long time bcs the creator is dead. probably judge and caesar clown gonna work together bcs they have connection with vegapunk in the past.
Meanwhile bonney gonna sail with strawhat and meet up with kuma EOS would be reasonable purpose for her as strawhat.
Okay hear me out. What if the only way to regain Kuma's mind requires the eternal energy source? Bonney joins with the dream to find the eternal energy source and bring Kuma back, and Kuma acts as the ship guard because his limited function only allows him to do simple tasks. Kuma returning to normal feels like a big emotional endgame moment like Brook reuniting with Laboon, and it fulfills the promise that Nika will take him out to sea.
